House Speaker Mike Johnson Rejects Biden Request for Additional Ukraine Spending

in reply to NightOwl

“As we predicted and as I said to all of you, weeks before the election, if Donald Trump is elected it will change the dynamic of the Russian war on Ukraine, and we’re seeing that happen,” Johnson told reporters, according to The Hill.

“So, it is not the place of Joe Biden to make that decision now, we have a newly elected president and we’re going to wait and take the new commander in chief’s direction on all that so I don’t expect any Ukraine funding to come up now,” he added.

I am so tired of hearing brain rotted ghouls using this argument. Obama couldn't appoint supreme court justices because he was leaving office either. Americans need the power to recall elected officials and so do all the states that don't have that right for their reps.

Mike Johnson makes me wish God were real. He's an Evangelical Christian and he's helping the literal antichrist come to power. If God were real I'd love to see the look on Mike's face when he's sent straight to superhell for the harm he's caused on earth.

Complete history of Ubuntu: a lot of highs, a lot of lows

A link to the video on PeerTube through Tilvids: tilvids.com/w/e4fxGdZgmgZeHVUr…

It makes me feel so nostalgic.

I still remember trying something alien called Linux on an old Dell Laptop (and also on my Playstation 3) I had inherited from my dad's company. It was good that everything worked out of the box because I had not technical knowledge. I can't know for sure but I guess it was a version of Ubuntu between 6.XX and 8.XX.

Then it was Linux all the time, until having a Windows dual boot in the mid-2010 before switching back to Linux fully at the beginning of the 2020's.

No more Ubuntu though since I fell in love with Fedora.

My employer is forcing us to migrate from Debian to Ubuntu because they want access to paid support. Holy crap, I hate snap so much.

Do you cross reference against other sources, to see if something is being omitted or lied about?

Syrian rebel commander: Israel, opposition 'fighting a common enemy'

One of the commanders of rebel forces in Aleppo, known as Abu Abdo, gave a special interview with i24NEWS’ Matthias Inbar on Wednesday, revealing that, despite differences, “we are fighting against a common enemy.”

“We look at Israel and the US, with the arrival of President Donald Trump, and we have a lot of respect and sympathy for them, for their actions against Iran – the country that leads terrorism in the region and all over the world.”

He said that his faction “looks forward to cooperate and eliminate this enemy and restoring stability.”

in reply to IndustryStandard

Just goes to show what these fuckers think of human life. Saying to countries like Israel "we're on the same side".

Man, this is a really bad precedent to be setting. First pardoning family members, then handing out pardons for "future crimes" to political allies. Imagine if Trump considered doing this shit, how poorly that would be received.

Seems like a quick way to make a farce of the pardon system.

in reply to Darrell_Winfield

I feel like there's only one way this could be pushed further to the limit: by a president (like Trump) pardoning himself.
