in reply to Garibaldee

Is there a path to adopt Palestinian children who need homes?
in reply to Sauerkraut

I think the article is referring to children that need medical treatment that can not be offered in Gaza do to lack of supplies, specialists and facilities, not children that need families, although most families there need new homes in general since they have been destroyed
in reply to Garibaldee

This is about one per day by the way. Even when approved for release, the exit can still be denied last-second for "undisclosed security reasons".

Death AmeriKKKa, Death to piSSrael

in reply to Garibaldee

It's almost as if, stay with me, they understand a nuclear armed state known as the unsinkable aircraft carrier in the middle east that the US uses to both project power and carry out totally illegal blackmail shit via Epstein, illegal surveillance shit, assassinations, etc, needs to be shielded from any accountability

Proton 9.0-4 released

in reply to petsoi

PoE2 came out in early access on Friday and with a bit of tinkering (had to switch to Proton 7, for others it runs with DX12 not Vulkan) I can play on Linux woth no problems. What a time to be alive! 🤭
in reply to petsoi

I keep hoping that one day Firaxis's 2002 SimGolf will be supported. I tried Golftopia but it doesn't quite scratch the itch.

Norway Keeps Promise to End International Finance for Fossil Fuels, Boosting Hopes of OECD Deal Tomorrow

The Norwegian government today published its policy to align its financing with the Clean Energy Transition Partnership (CETP, sometimes called the Glasgow Statement), fulfilling a promise it made a year ago to end the use of Norwegian government finance to fund fossil fuel projects abroad.
in reply to §ɦṛɛɗɗịɛ ßịⱺ𝔩ⱺɠịᵴŧ

What about inside? Afaik fossil fuels are over 20% of entire Norway economy and make over 60% of their exports.

Iran's Leader: What happened in Syria plotted by US, Israel

in reply to geneva_convenience

Right… that’s why the US was caught completely off guard and the main leader of the resistance has a strong anti-US, anti-Israel, anti-Iran, pro-Saud background.

Introducing BootSelector, GUI utility to set grub default boot entry

BootSelector is a tiny GUI utility for setting any grub menu entry as default.

It also allows you to reboot into any OS/kernel in your grub menu.

The initial version has been tested on the latest Ubuntu 24.10 and should work on other Debian-based distributions as well.

An RPM for fedora will be released soon after more testing is done.

in reply to mfat

With the Reboot Into Selected, will this modify the next boot only without changing the default?
in reply to Railison

Yes, it only reboots into the selected entry ONCE without changing the default one.
in reply to mfat

does it use efibootmgr? if so,how is it handled on BIOS systems?
in reply to ReversalHatchery

No. It just reads and parses the contents of /boot/grub/grub.cfg and updates /etc/default/grub
in reply to mfat

Grub was legacy since gummiboot. Please let's let it die.

Insert inst.sdboot as an option in the Fedora installer to rid yourself from grub on Fedora. Websearch for further instructions/how-to.

What the U.S. Media is Not Saying About Syria

in reply to itsoctober

it's wild that we're suddenly okay with al-qaeda somehow and it's telling that they're justifying it with equal rights for women.

With Trump's Re-Election, a Venezuela Invasion Could Be On the Cards

in reply to NightOwl

Could the recent "Venezuelan gangs" psyop be manufacturing consent for this?
in reply to NightOwl

Daddy Putin will not let us invade Venezuela. He is our defacto leader now.

don't like this

in reply to NightOwl

That’s great news! They’re actually willing to make concessions!
in reply to Em Adespoton

I mean joking aside, that's what this means yes. It's a common negotiation tactic. It's like the businessman who comes into a meeting saying he's never had to sell so the price is going to be very high.

But yes, this also matches up with the joke that whatever Russia says, believe the opposite. Except in this particular case it's literally part of the art of negotiations. Not the Trump book.

in reply to Em Adespoton

The Holy hand grenade skit and the French guy skit were all about negotiations and concessions.

It's not 3 and definitely not 6

and the French sent gifts from their kitchen which was quite generous of them

What's the Russia equivalent of trebuchet'ing a kitchen sink?

in reply to NightOwl

From the Russians POV, there really isn't anyone on the other side of the table.

All the Russians need to do is say, Trump get your own house in order 1st.

So this conflict isn't ever going to come out with a gift wrapped bow on it.

Really the question is, how long is the media going to wait for that tied ribbon to arrive?

Is it like fusion energy, always only 20 years away?

in reply to ☆ Yσɠƚԋσʂ ☆

How about making it mandatory to insure all employees including CEOs in the same insurance company but a group of paying customers decide what is getting paid and what not 😉
in reply to abcd

What about legislating that insurance companies must be non-profits

If they can't take a profit they need to spend their premiums. If the premiums are too high they need to be generous, if razor tight they need to be fair, too low they'd be sued out of existence
