Streaming Setup on a VPS with OBS, MistServer, and Tailscale
I’m trying to set up a streaming server on a VPS. I’m using OBS Studio and MistServer in a Debian docker container with noVNC access to control it.
MistServer is supposed to be able to detect a stream on the local network and then create a custom RTMP key so that it can be passed to OBS studio and then streamed to multiple platforms simultaneously.
I was thinking that I could use Tailscale to create a virtual network, and that should connect the camera to MistServer. If I do that, could I just use the Tailscale IP as the RTMP IP address and then have it treat the camera as if it is on a local network?
Essentially:
Camera wired to iPad > Tailscale > MistServer > OBS Studio > Multiple Streaming Platforms
Is there some better way to do this that I’m totally missing?
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Linux suggestion
I'm currently looking for a new OS, coming from KDE neon and I like it, but the fact I have to FUCKING restart because someone decided to push an OS update that broke my previous install, now the OS freezes my whole PC (never did before!) and I have to restart.
I'm looking for good apps support so Debian? Idk
Using it for daily usage (Android/games development) and gaming.
I'm also looking for:
- Wobbly windows (yes useless but cool lol)
- Good customization
- KDE connect support (a must)
- Krunner or equivalent (MacOS like search)
- Idk?
Thank you!

Casual Viewing: Why Netflix looks like that
A decade before Airbnb persuaded homeowners to transform their homes into hotels, Netflix convinced its users to turn theirs into mini Netflix warehouses. Customers who held onto their DVDs for longer meant fewer shipping costs for Netflix, and fewer DVDs for the company to manage and store. Netflix tracked heavy users of its service — labeling them internally as “pigs” — and secretly throttled their deliveries. It didn’t matter if Netflix rented fewer DVDs than Blockbuster, because the company would keep collecting its monthly fee. The difference between Blockbuster and Netflix was this: Blockbuster punished customers for being forgetful; Netflix rewarded them for being mindless.

Nope, not significant. The paper was retracted because a few extra sequences were included, but the conclusion remained the same when they redid the analysis.

'The Batman II' Heads to 2027, Warner Bros' Tom Cruise Movie In 2026
Post Christmas Warner Bros is busy making release date changes for next year before it rings in and beyond.Anthony D'Alessandro (Deadline)
Yeah I wonder if they just don't want The Batman to clash with the DCU movies tonally, or have its reputation ruined by them if they turn out to be bad.
However it could also be that now that they have the script they know it'll take longer to shoot and edit than they originally thought.

Did they know everything about you to be able to make that assessment? Bad in what way? In every way? How could that be possible?
We barely understand ourselves, how can we rely on anyone to make that judgement?

As an adult, I've learned that it's possible that my parents just weren't very good at being parents. While the compartmentalizing has become easier to perform, the emotional scars still take time to unravel

Thus, I compared myself to others.
Except I never found myself to be better or equal in my comparisons, I felt lesser than, worse and irrelevant

Having negative experiences is not a guarantee that you're bad, but if you consistently have more than others, it might likely be a sign of being bad. Overemphasizing is also something bad.
The communication shouldn't be that "you're actually well", because it's simply not true. If you overemphasize negative experiences, you have a problem, you aren't well. The communication should instead be that it's ok to have that problem, there are ways to solve this problem, and it's possible to become good (again). Because that's also true and doesn't depend on deluding yourself.
