This is a real thing. It turns out more people than you would think are prone to paranoia and schizophrenia and if they spend too much time talking to LLMs they start to believe that the LLM is their friend, and then that the LLM is omniscient, and then from there it can spiral out of control as the LLM makes up a world of delusions for them. It's hard to know how many people are affected because neither the victim nor the LLM realize there is a problem, and the problem is relatively new.
The problem is how the whole thing was presented to people. You just need to pass by subreddits related to ChatGPT to see the amount of misunderstandings about how it works, just an example:

Rather, the symptoms of the paranoid psychotic state is influenced by the patients interaction with the environment.

A threat actor called EncryptHub has compromised a game on Steam to distribute info-stealing malware to unsuspecting users downloading the title.
A few days ago, the hacker (also tracked as Larva-208), injected malicious binaries into the Chemia game files hosted on Steam.
Chemia is a survival crafting game from developer ‘Aether Forge Studios,’ which is currently offered as early access on Steam but has no public release date.
It is unclear how EncryptHub managed to add the malicious files to the game project but one explanation could be an insider helping out. The developer of the game has not published any official statements on their game's Steam page or on social media.

I switched from Google Maps to Organic Maps after trying a bunch of alternatives, didn't know about CoMaps then; but since I learned this is a fork of my favourite big tech alternative i've been postponing installing this. Seems like there are a lot of people positive about it here, so couldn't postpone any longer. It's installing as we speak.

One's own children and parents can easily be more important for someone than I am. And people can do a LOT to protect their loved ones.
I just downloaded it to try it out. I'm missing the options Google Maps gives for routes though. The map app doesn't always know best, so it's better to give a few options imo.
For public transport i prefer to use HERE, which is owned by a bunch of car companies i believe. Might also be good for navigation by car i wouldn't know. But although i havent found a big difference between Comaps and Organic Maps i'm inclined to continue using it.
I've recently gone back to using osmand~. CoMaps doesn't support GPX navigation (can only display the track), which is really important for preplanned cycle tours. And I don't drive enough with a car to gauge the navigation there.
Still a great project, it just doesn't fit my personal needs at all.

If you can't fine CoMaps at all, F-Droid has the anti feature "tethered network services" hidden by default. CoMaps is intending to remedy the anti feature

Nope. I don't agree with cm0002's campaign of reposting everything posted to a lemmy.ml community to a community hosted elsewhere, so I don't want to run a bot that suggests there's genuine growth somewhere when I consider any growth there to be driven by bullshit. It ended up being more of a proof-of-concept than anything. I forked Thunder by banging my fists on the keyboard until it worked, rather than actually learn anything about Flutter/Dart or proper app development. As soon as another Flutter app came along (Interstellar), I leapt at the chance to abandon it.

Nice things about PieFed: There are two other options for reddit-style federated forums, Lemmy and Kbin (recently forked to Mbin, which shows some promise). Having used them both extensively I came away unsatisfied, for a variety of reasons.
