He obviously is unaware that oil has to be refined. And the U.S does not do that.
We actually already have a ton of oil. But we sell it. And buy refined from other countries.

It's kinda all stupid but yeah we can't use crude oil.

The infographic show explains.

Not sure why you think the US doesn’t refine oil. The southern coastline in particular refines a lot of crude oil.

Doesn't the US refine light sweet crude while Venezuela oil is heavy crude so US refineries can't do anything with it?
in reply to reddig33

Maybe I mis understood that video I linked or they have some wrong information.

My understanding is we get the product we use to make gasoline from other countries and can't create it here.

?

in reply to daannii

Eve if it were the case that the US could not refine it, they could still just sell it along to someone who could....

Michigan Congresswoman Haley Stevens Introduces Articles of Impeachment Against RFK Jr.

Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has turned his back on science, on public health, and on the American people – spreading conspiracies and lies, driving up costs, and putting lives at risk

I guess Stevens should just sit on her hands? What are you suggesting as a better course of action? She was elected to do things. And if she does something you criticize. And I expect if she does nothing you will do the same. smh

All Democrats need to focus on flipping the House and Senate in 2026 and they won't get there by proposing legislation that cannot and will not move forward.
in reply to AlexLost

Says someone acutely aware of how the House and Senate work.

The House is controlled by Mike Johnson, Republican, he will not allow a proposal by a Democrat to move forward.

in reply to jordanlund

No legislation they propose will not move forward. All that the Republicans left them are symbolic gestures
in reply to jordanlund

What should they do then? Do you think voters will support a party doing nothing?
in reply to FreshParsnip

They literally can't do anything with the Republicans in control, they need to run on that rather than ineffectual proposals that can't go anywhere.

FreshParsnip calls for articles of impeachment to be given out like candy to all of Trump's allies this holiday season

is it bad i'm just kinda glad they finally went completely masks-off?

republicans used to be able to atleast pretend they werent bloodthirsty psychopaths when the cameras were rolling, and dems could passably act as controlled opposition when it was their turn to play pretend.

trump is just so batshit stupid and sociopathic that the entire facade is undone.

Personally I will take oppressed racists over oppressing racists any day of the week.

Also while things are worse now, Republicans have been unapologetically evil for at least 40 years.

Except before they were unapologetic because they could at least feign a moral compass despite knowing they were wrong when they were in the spotlight. Now they aren't apologetic because they think what they're doing is right.

So you've never heard of the American Service-Members' Protection Act, known informally as the Hague Invasion Act enacted in 2002. Which protects American war criminals by invading the Hague if necessary.

Israeli minister says war ‘inevitable’ after Syrian troops chant for Gaza

in reply to Peter Link

Israel little by little is losing their moral high ground and making people truly question their right to exist.
in reply to Devolution

Israel has never had the right to exist. Especially not on stolen land. Anyone who thinks so also doesn't deserve to exist.
in reply to Devolution

The moral high grind they had when they were bombing hotels and murdering imams and rabbis that worked against them?

See! FURTHER proof that Trans people are NOT our Friends!

Because then they might vote, and win, and then they’ll have to do something instead of just ask for donations! /hj

Seriously though, this is awesome. Kicking and screaming our way forward into progress, bit by bit, as usual but still a solid sliver of hope.

Massie introduces bill to pull America out of NATO

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) on Wednesday introduced a bill that would pull the United States out of the NATO alliance.

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) said she would co-sponsor the bill, while Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) has introduced companion legislation in the upper chamber.

“NATO is a Cold War relic. We should withdraw from NATO and use that money to defend our own country, not socialist countries,” Massie said in a statement.

“NATO was created to counter the Soviet Union, which collapsed over thirty years ago. Since then, U.S. participation has cost taxpayers trillions of dollars and continues to risk U.S. involvement in foreign wars,” he added.
