Mexican president says her country has paused oil shipments to Cuba

MEXICO CITY (AP) — Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said Tuesday her government has at least temporarily stopped oil shipments to Cuba, but struck an ambiguous tone, saying the pause was part of general fluctuations in oil supplies and that it was a "sovereign decision" not made under pressure from the United States.

Sheinbaum was responding to inquiries on whether the state oil company Pemex had cut off oil shipments to Cuba in the wake of mounting pressure from U.S. President Donald Trump that Mexico distance itself from the Cuban government, though U.S. officials have not publicly requested that Mexico stop the oil.

This is the bullshit I was afraid of but knew was coming. Can we seriously not just leave people the fuck alone

Using single vim.pack.add() call to load all necessary plugins at once and later configure in a series of require() calls

How about not using require for configuration at all? Although I wouldn’t expect it from this particular author - he shoves require().setup even into plugins that literally have nothing to configure and should just work.

The whole thing is a remnant of an old misinformed plugin template repository made by someone with no knowledge of vim startup sequence.

He talked about this in a interview recently ! Echasnovski (mini.nvim creator): "gpanders is WRONG About the Setup Call" (allegedly)

I hate when you download an anime torrent and the company's building blow up causing millions in damage. Such a shame that's what happens.

I’ve been working toward this for years, and it finally happened.

Canada now has a parliamentary petition to require secure coding in federal software. If you care about cybersecurity, public safety, and better government tech, please sign:

"Secure coding." I worry this is just a case of someone pushing for Rust or Rust-equivalents. Which is, like, good in spirit, but really misrepresents the investments it takes to actually achieve "security."

Private trackers are much better. I appreciate p2p as every user helps strengthen the tracker. And usually you pay with that support instead of with money.

I was just making fun of OP for hating on cloud storage.

Usenet is basically cloud storage as in it's a server hosting it instead of peers. The advantage being speed. (Oversimplified)

I had a period of unemployment last year during which I had to sell my PS5 to pay my power bill. I'm working again, but it'll be years before I can afford another video game console. I hope my launch-era PS4 keeps hanging in there, I'm worried for its hard drive.
in reply to Solitaire20X6

Hard drive in PS4 is user-replaceable so at least there’s that. Putting even the cheapest SATA SSD decreases load times considerably too which should help in stretching its lifespan a bit.

As long as China remains the evil boogieman, the Western ruling class will NEVER be threatened by the people they rule. The West does anything? China is worse so you can't complain. People will be walked into volcanos chanting "at least it's not China!"
in reply to HiddenLayer555

It's incredible how effective this tactic is, especially given that most people in the west will never travel to China to see it for themselves.

(Debian) How do i find links for apt repositories?

in reply to IndigoGolem

Debian strongly recommends against adding repos from other distributions or other versions of Debian: wiki.debian.org/DontBreakDebia… Doing that can easily break your system. They also recommend against adding repos for specific software packages (e.g. for LibreWolf), but this is generally less problematic.

Personally, on Debian, I try to get packages in this order:
1. From the official Debian packages
2. From Flatpak
3. Pre-built binaries (I put them in my home, not in /usr/bin)
4. Build from source (I also put those in my home)
