What would be a good way to get started with libadwaita development?

I'm trying to make a fairly simple libadwaita app in the builder ide with python and blueprint, but the official documentation isn't very clear. Does anyone know of a good beginner-friendly tutorial?
in reply to Blisterexe

Why would you use liBADwaita... There are perfectly reasonable alternatives.
in reply to Blisterexe

I'd personally get the Vala book and start with that. It's more gnome-integrated and it's a great language.

LLM/"AI" Policies | Jellyfin

in reply to exu

What about the IP issues? Not even talking about the "ethics" of "ip theft via AI" or anything, you just know a company like Microsoft or Apple will eventually try suing an open source project over AI code that's "too similar" to their proprietary code. Doesn't matter if they're doing the same to a much greater degree, all that matters is they have the resources to sue open source projects and not the other way around. If a tech company can get rid of the competition by abusing the legal system, you just know they will, especially if they can also play the "they're knowingly letting their users use pirated media that we own with their software” card on top of it.

Doubt it. The incentives don't align. They benefit from open source much more than are threatened by it. Even that "embrace, extent, extinguish" idea comes from different times and it's likely less profitable than the vendor lock-in and other modern practices that are actually in place today. Even the copyright argument is something that could easily backfire if they just throw it in a case, because of all this questionable AI training.

in reply to Eager Eagle

And specially for Microsoft, they would be shooting their own foot if they were to spread Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt in the development community over the legality of the use of AI tools like Copilot, which they themselves promote and sell.

So far the best AI tool use policy I've read, specially this bit:

Your PR body should be providing context to other developers about why a change was made, and if your name is on it, we want your words and explanations, not an LLM's. If you can't explain what the LLM did, we are not interested in the change.

Help with uploading images on Linux Mint & Librewolf

So when I upload an image on certain sites the Image "uploads" but it comes out as a solid or staticy colours & looks nothing like what I uploaded.

this really became a problem when I made some new PFPs for my Online Accounts, Glomble & Here took them fine but WAFRN & Bluesky who took the previous images fine just showed the weird stuff even though when they allowed be to crop the image it looked perfectly fine, any advice?

This comes from Canvas being blocked by default in librewolf. You can either enable it globally in the settings, or enable it per site by clicking the little picture icon in the URL bar and toggling it, then reloading
in reply to Geodes_n_Gems

librewolf.net/docs/faq/#should…

You most likely need to enable Canvas support on that site for the upload. It's a little picture icon right to the left of the URL bar. I would recommend reading the docs above.

Fuck the National Post.

Please provide a better source. I don't want to give any clicks to that godawful "news" site.
