That's freaking amazing, basically half of the typical 14''.

EndeavourOS keeps freezing

This started today and hasn’t happened before. Initially I thought it was an application from work that was causing issues. I SSHed into the machine and didn’t see anything strange - I used btop.

I updated the system and rebooted. A few minutes later when I got to the machine to check everything, was frozen again. I hadn’t even logged in.

I’ve used the eos-sendlog feature to get the logs and it seems like it might be GPU related.

I was using KDE with X11 when this happened, but I’ve been using that combination for months at this point. Nothing that I’m aware of has changed or been updated recently to possibly cause this issue.

Update:
I’ve done a complete shutdown (turned the PSU off) and rebooted with the LTS kernel. So far so good. It doesn’t seem to be a hardware issue as it worked fine on the live USB.

I booted into an EndeavourOS live USB (just to keep it all the same) and there hasn’t been any freezing. So it seems like a driver issue then.

If you ever get tired of fixing broken things, try Bazzite Nvidia spin.

More of a symbolic gesture than anything; there aren't any plans for an actual BRICS currency. I don't think that would do much yet in the current US-led global financial landscape.

CNN's Sympathy Piece on Israeli Soldier Backfires After War Crime Allegations Surface

Despite the reality carefully researched and documented by not only Amnesty International but by a preponderance of the world's human rights organizations, CNN employed language that carefully constructed a sympathetic narrative around the mental health of a soldier engaged in actions that the World Court has acknowledged as a plausible case of genocide.

Critics argue that CNN's story is emblematic of a broader trend of double standards within corporate media. For instance, the New York Times has reported on Israeli soldiers' "panic attacks" as newsworthy yet has not offered similar mental health coverage for Lebanese or Palestinian civilians who are being killed and injured in large numbers.

I cannot find the tweet along the lines of "there will be a movie about how killing made Israeli soldiers sad"

Beelink open sources the design of the Beelink EX GPU dock

There are a growing number of graphics docks that allow you to add a discrete GPU to a laptop, handheld, or mini PC by connecting to a Thunderbolt, USB4, or OCuLink port. But Chinese mini PC maker Beelink has taken a different approach with its Beelink Ex Docking Station.

First unveiled earlier this year, the 159 graphics dock connects directly to a PCIe connector on supported computers […]

Linux Support Continues For The Now-Canceled Snapdragon X Elite Dev Kit For Windows

Instead of wasting time on supporting bullshit hardware that almost nobody owns and will be forgotten in about 6 months, what about placing some effort into real hardware that real people want to use like tablets? Fucks sake.

Update: just to make it clear, I own no hardware of that type, it’s not “doesn't work on my hardware” type of situation. It is that everyone likes to talks about Linux desktop (including Canonical) yet nobody puts any effort into going into the tablet market that is where Linux can have a real advantage (because ARM + full desktop OS experience) and get a real user base.

I'm guessing it's because the developers either have a different speciality that they focus on, are employed to support specific hardware, or both.
in reply to TCB13

If your hardware ain't working maybe there's barrier to devs working on it caused by the designer/manufacture. Or we have not paid them enough for it to be worth their time?

There is nothing stopping you from putting the effort in. Why don't you pick some hardware and start working on building support for it?
in reply to TCB13

I thought you were going to ask for better RISC-V support.
