Yes, it's in the air, it's in what he says, the lies he tells, and whose emotions they're aimed at. It's in the American exceptionalism he sells.

That's the vision the left has to fit into, and it's been done before. Bernie was doing it in 2016.

Compare that coherent vision of American exceptionalism with this:

Tell lies that make them feel better than the lies the other guy is telling.

Looks like CMYK support is coming, if I read the release notes right. That has been a sticking point for a loong time.

I am actually really glad to see this happen, Mozilla needs a massive refocus on what actually matters (Firefox, Thunderbird, new tech etc).

there was once a time when mozilla was at the fore front of tech development and they were churning out extremely cool tech one after the other. Servo, DeepSpeech, Firefox reality (wolvic is the successor in case anyone was wondering), a TV browser (Why did they have to kill this of all things off T.T) and others.

I want to see mozilla put more focus, and more importantly, a larger portion of the money they receive on actually doing things.

in reply to petsoi

Seeing them phrase it in bullshit business-speak really increases my confidence.

Only a year? Come on LF! I know you're just a soulless organisation there to provide employment for Torvalds, GKH and others, but you can at least make some SOME effort!!!!
in reply to theshatterstone54

I have absolutely zero insight on how the foundation and their financing works, but in general it tends to be easier to green light a one time expense than a recurring monthly payment. So it might be just that, a years salary at first to get the gears running again and getting some time to fit the 'infinite' running cost into plans/forecasts/everything.

systemd 257-rc1 Released With A Ton Of New Features & Changes

in reply to petsoi

More interesting things:

  • The "systemd-tmpfiles --purge" option is reworked to only apply to tmpfiles.d/ lines marked with the new "$" flag. This is to better address systemd's --purge deleting too many files by accident.
  • Systemd 258 also aims to remove support for the (deprecated) System V service scripts support.
  • systemd-boot menu will now react to volume up/down rocker presses in the same way as arrow up/down presses. This is for smartphones and other devices that may have volume up/down rockers but not arrow keys.

Martin Owens is working on a new PDF exporter that will allow you to use an ICC colour profile to have correct CMYK colours for printing, basically essential for professional printing.

I think he said tentatively by the end of the year, so most likely early next year some time

β€˜Disaster’: Trump’s political comeback stirs fresh anxiety in Europe, Ukraine

The Republican president-elect has threatened to relaunch a trade war with Europe, withdraw US support for Ukraine, and roll back America’s transatlantic security commitment.

Even as European leaders scrambled to congratulate Donald Trump and offered to work with him, some of their underlings were on the brink of despair.

β€œIt is a disaster for us, there is no good to come from this,” said an EU diplomat, whose weary eyes betrayed an all-nighter watching the election results roll in.

Officials in the Belgian capital have spent months discussing how to β€œTrump-proof” the EU and Nato.

On Monday, its incoming trade chief Maros Sefcovic said that regardless of who won, the bloc would β€œput forward an offer of cooperation” but would β€œbe ready to stand up for our interest if faced with a disruptive scenario”.

Of course you’re not. Not understanding things is how you came to be racist and wrong in the first place.
in reply to davel

I really don’t know where you’re getting racism lol.
in reply to ravhall

It's everyone's favorite game to play with their klansman uncle: make them admit they're a racist!

...it's futile!

Hey look the person that refuses to read and makes racist comments is calling others fake lefties.
in reply to TheOubliette

It’s not a racist comment. It’s suggesting someone is a paid actor. Which, may be true, but it’s not for the Chinese. So, that word was kind of pointless
in reply to ravhall

Right you accuse those that correct you of being paid Chinese agents. This is correctly understood as a racist response.

I'm curious to see how many of them are like me and chose to register as independent as I didn't want to be registered on an "enemies list" for Trump to persecute when he won. I'd have otherwise registered as a Democrat so I could participate in primaries.
in reply to Asafum

I vote republican in the primary, Democrat in the general. My state has open primaries. But even with closed primaries, you can vote for whomever you want in the general. Register as a republican to vote in their primary and try to resist fascism.
in reply to carl_dungeon

If every single one of them had voted for Harris, it would still have been a massacre. Find a better scapegoat or face the facts.
