Indeed, that was the original intent of the game to show that even if you start in the most fair conditions possible, at the end of the game one person will own everything through the process of competition. It's vitally important for people to understand that capitalism isn't a static system, it evolves over time as certain companies succeed and grow and it becomes increasingly difficult for others to compete with them. Competition ends up being the very engine of capital accumulation.

Any APIs or apps that allow for complete keyboard navigation OS-wide, including inside apps

macOS has a variety of apps like Homerow, Shortcat, and KindaVim (watch the videos in those links if u can) that allow for navigation of apps using just the keyboard. Homerow allows for pressing a hotkey and then showing letters over UI elements which can be entered to move the mouse to said element, similar to the Vim easymotion plugin. KindaVim attempts to implement vim modal navigation inside GUI apps, so you can enter normal or visual mode and use j and k to move up or down. They all work using macOS' accessibility API which exposes UI elements for programmatic interaction.

I did a bunch of searches for Linux equivalent of such apps and Mac's accessibility API, and didn't find anything as comprehensive. Can you navigate a wide variety of Linux apps using mostly or only the keyboard (apps made with GTK, Electron, etc.)? Is it currently possible to develop an equivalent of the apps listed above?

in reply to TheTwelveYearOld

Answering this very question using Tridactyl for Firefox.

It's not OS-wide but I spend so much time switching from browser to terminal, it might as well be.

tridactyl.xyz/build/static/doc…

Also for the keyboard itself I use a Corne-ish Zen, which allows me to use ZMK and thus have my own keymap github.com/Utopiah/zmk-config-…

I use KDE which with Super+T brings up tiling options.

Regarding the "API" aspect, a trick I used few times to be able to remote control a desktop in VR is xdotool but it's honestly quite tedious. Without some accessibility solution implemented in apps themselves, I doubt it's reliable.

I mean, when you hold down the Alt key, it's convention that GUI toolkits underline a letter in the text of UI elements, and when you then press Alt + that letter, it'll activate that UI element.
That way, you can navigate most apps in a keyboard-driven fashion, although it is certainly not the most comfortable to use...

Democrats Begged Team Kamala Harris Not to Campaign With Liz Cheney

The idea that democrats would abandon their base and try to flip republicans was idiotic beyond belief.

It is what the capital class ordered her to do. We will never get politicians who fight for us until we ban Super pacs, paid lobbying, and all the other ways that the 1% bribe and manipulate our politicians

in reply to Sauerkraut

Only way any of that could ever happen is if there was a fundamental change in a political system.

Need help with a fresh drupal install

Crossposted from : lemmy.ml/post/22319676

I just install a complete new Drupal install in a Debian VM inside proxmox, everything works as intended, but I cannot add content to it(it gives me a 500 error).

Apache logs show me that the memory is exhausted, search online, no real answer, tried a lot of thing in PHP.ini, .htaccess… At first the VM had 1 vcpu and 1GB of RAM, not working, I’ve put the PHP memory limit to 1GB, give 8GB to the vm, and 4vcpu. Not working, just β€œloading” the 500 longer.

Error got into /var/log/apache2/error.log : PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 262144 bytes)) in Unknown on line 0.
This is why I give the vm 8GB and change php memory_limit to 1GB but it did nothing…

Have no solutions, as now. If you have one please let me know! thanks πŸ™‚

EDIT: this is not the problem of drupal 11, tried to install it with drupal 10, same result, I think it has something to do with proxmox

Any interesting things in Reports -> Status? Sometimes there are warnings in there which point to config issues.
in reply to foremanguy

Make a plain text file under Apache somewhere with .php extension and stick the following into it:
<br /><?php phpinfo(); ?>

Ctrl+F the word β€œmemory” and see if anything looks off.

That feeling of no giving a damn about Windows

This is just a post about satisfaction. After years of using Linux exclusively, I was going over my Feeder just now, and just figured that I automatically dismiss anything containing the words "Microsoft" or "Windows" in it.

This made me realize how much better we Linux users actually have it.

Anyway, that's all this is about.

Crypto businessman killed in apparent assassination at SΓ£o Paulo airport

A Brazilian businessman has been killed and three people injured in an apparent gangland assassination at SΓ£o Paulo’s international airport in Guarulhos.

The victims were caught in a hail of bullets when a gunman with a rifle opened fire from inside a black car parked outside the airport’s terminal 2, which is mainly used for domestic flights.

Police identified the dead man as AntΓ΄nio VinΓcius Lopes Gritzbach, who had previously received death threats from the First Capital Command (PCC), Brazil’s most powerful crime syndicate.

Prosecutors reportedly describe Lopes Gritzbach as a businessman who worked with bitcoin and cryptocurrency. He had reportedly been accused of money laundering, and had recently entered into a plea bargain with local prosecutors to speak about his ties to the criminal organization, police said.

SID was the Commodore 64 sound generator chip. While rest of that era personal computers and game console could just do fancy beeps at most, SID had a programmable synthesizer.
