I’ve interacted with Indian teams and the hardest part was the time zone.
in reply to davel

Oh yeah, having devs in different time zones alone is a pain. If you do outsourcing, you're best off just having your whole team in one place.

The current economy in Canada should worry the governing elites; freezing and starving people makes them susceptible to revolutionary talk!

In fact, poverty radicalizing young people in Canada was one of the risks RCMP identified in a recent report

Anyone remember Biden throwing a hissy fit over Iran and Saudi Arabia's reproachment?

Now there's indications that the China-brokered peace deal wasn't just a photo-op. Saudi, Iranian senior military officials discuss defense cooperation.

Saudi Arabia has been a loyal US ally and for decades; and it is still deep in the US camp financially and militarily. I want this defense cooperation to be everything it can be, but I fear that the Saudi government isn't ready yet to distance itself from US interests.

I'm guessing Saudis are gonna hedge their bets the way Turkiye is doing. The very fact that they are starting to hedge against the US is an indication of a huge shift in my opinion.

Pentagon stunned by Trump's nomination of Fox News host as defense secretary

President-elect Donald Trump stunned the Pentagon and the broader defense world by nominating Fox News host Pete Hegseth to serve as his defense secretary, tapping someone largely inexperienced and untested on the global stage to take over the world’s largest and most powerful military.

Turkey severs all relations with Israel, says Erdogan

Turkey has severed all ties with Israel, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced on Wednesday.

Erdogan made the comments to journalists aboard his plane following visits to Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan.

“The government of the Republic of Turkey, under the leadership of Tayyip Erdogan, will not continue or develop relations with Israel,” Erdogan said.

“[Our ruling coalition] is resolute in its decision to cut ties with Israel, and we will maintain this stance in the future as well.”

Despite imposing a trade embargo on Israel in May, Ankara continues to maintain diplomatic relations with the country.

Although the Turkish government formally recalled its ambassador last year for consultations, Turkish diplomatic missions in Tel Aviv remain open and operational.

Similarly, Israel evacuated its embassy in Ankara last year, citing regional security threats.

Floppy, a split 34 keys board using telephone cable

I wanted to design a funny keyboard with an alternative to TRRS, so I made this floppy disk sized keyboard! (Perfect replica, under 10cm x 10cm)

I made a build guide for it too: lexp.lt/posts/floppy_keyboard/

in reply to SuperFola

That is awesome. I was looking to a alternative to TRRS. I like it.

How to Write an Informal Business Report

Exempt from formal business report writing, informal report writing essentially entails a straightforward writing style of composing the business report. Usually, it contains some general information about the study, results obtained, and discussion of results, and can present scanning and conversational language. In any case an informal report is also likely to be easier to write because it lacks structure; it does however require an organized approach and must be to the point. Avoid using complex terms and where possible, use bullet point format with headings that would lead to easy understand by the target group. The idea is to be as direct as possible, or informal in their language use as can be appropriately expected.

U.S. won’t withhold aid to Israel, walking back threat over conditions in Gaza

The United States will not withhold military aid from Israel, the State Department said Tuesday, after top Biden administration officials warned a month ago that they would consider doing so if the flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza did not improve.

State Department deputy spokesman Vedant Patel said there would be no change to U.S. policy at the end of the 30-day deadline the U.S. set for Israel to improve conditions in Gaza. Aid groups and U.N. officials say Israel has largely failed to comply with U.S. demands, a Washington Post analysis found.

Should we integrate easier access to running Winblows apps on GNU/Linux?

Why "we" should bother with that when -you- can do it yourself? Linux is a "free" ""operating system"" (Not absolutely free, but at least way more "free" than Windows) -- learn the ways to do that and implement these changes yourself.

in reply to GustavoM

if this isnt sarcasm, it all boils down to the user experience, most people just want to use an OS and run apps that they want to run as easily and quickly as possible

Guess I got kicked out of the banned.

It seems M$ really doesn't want people to keep using WIndows

I am currently using a legitimate copy of Windows 11, on the latest version. Just started getting this message after the latest update.

Considering I already have Linux and Mac as alternatives, if they actually pull my license they will just lose a lifelong customer. Their business decisions truly boggle the mind...

in reply to datavoid

You think that's fucked, I updated and I get this message now that won't fuck off, stating I am both up to date, and missing updates at the same fucking time. Doesn't matter how many times I check for updates, nothing new is found, nothing installs.

You can hope they won't pull your license, but with this shit I'm just hoping they don't brick my fucking system.

in reply to datavoid

Microsoft shouldn't revoke license keys unless it's a leaked VL key being spread around for piracy or the like. The semi-annual major updates seem to count as "versions" like Windows 11 22H2 (now end of service) vs Windows 11 24H2 (current). That said, it's a poorly worded error message and it doesn't help that Windows 11 will cry wolf at every opportunity.
