TL;DR: Bluesky isn’t feasibly federated due to hardware demands of self-hosting the relay—which would require every instance to host the same, synced copy of the entirety of Twitter everywhere—among other things, but is great at providing what its committed corporation calls a centralized “credible exit“: “if Bluesky Social PBC goes out of business or loses users’ trust, other providers can step in to provide an equivalent service using the same dataset and the same protocols”

Yeah I could see this being a big factor. Advertising money can also mean directly paying people to use it, and hoping some of their followers might come along.

People don’t care about decentralization as long as they have a credible exit; in fact, many may prefer the features of centralization. Bluesky also has an algorithm.

I think people dislike the experience.
For example, on Mastodon your profile discoverability is disabled in settings by default. I guess it's needed to optimize the hosting cost, but people also like being heard. Also people don't know who to follow since there are no algorithms or starter packs right now. And if you have a post from another instance, you need a browser extension to open it on yours. That's the complains I saw.
As a Mastodon user, I hope we solve them!

Like I get what you're saying, but having very, very white skin is literally(literally literally) a central detail of the character. Hence the name.
I feel like maybe the answer isn't to keep remaking European fairy tales. Maybe the focus should be on, I dunno, folk tales from anywhere else? Or, God forbid, an original story?

No one needs to beholden to fairytales as some sort of holy text that can't be altered because they are fiction, and old fiction at that. Death of an author is a concept worth debating about living authors, not ones that died 2 centuries ago. Fictional characters are whatever we say they are. Make her black, make her trans, make her tall, make her Indianian, make her a a him as a gay man, none of it would change the core story about a poison apple and a jealous sorcerer. Disney has already altered countless details from their original text, so to get precious about skin color in a movie with witches, spells and magic kingdom is just ludicrous and highlights your f

Clunky editing in the beginning and the existence of CGI elves is just a reminder of the jobs stolen from real people with dwarfism but all in all it's not bad. Love the structuring of not even bringing up the poisoned apple until the very end.
All of that said I don't care about the movie and won't be seeing it at all. Just a bit annoyed by people raging over this trailer when it's really not all that bad.
