IOF admit to opening fire on protesters in southern Syria
The Israeli occupation forces acknowledged their use of live ammunition against protesters in southern Syria, claiming the action targeted what they described as a "threat."
According to an IOF statement, one protester sustained a gunshot wound to the leg in the village of Maaria.
The incident unfolded during a demonstration against the Israeli military presence and its encroachment on agricultural lands in the area.
It is worth noting that the IOF recently occupied two villages in the Yarmouk Basin region of Daraa province in southern Syria. These actions are part of what appears to be an ongoing expansion of Israeli-occupied territories in Syria, particularly since the emergence of new regime forces in the country.

Foss Alternative to Android Auto
Will there ever be such a thing? I know that you can use your phone on a mount, but having your phone integrated into your dash screen, steering wheel buttons, etc. Is a big convenience and I also think safer.
Would a drop in replacement be possible? Or would a whole new app need to be developed and integrated into every car manufacturer?
This is one google app that I still heavily rely on, unfortunately. I'm sure they are harvesting everything about me as I drive.

TBH I don't even understand why Android Auto needs to exist in the first place.
The same (or even better) functionality can be achieved by using a standard video output (DisplayPort, HDMI) from the device to the in-car screen, while the touches on the in-car screen can be translated into USB mouse position and clicks on the device (unless there is a better touch protocol).
I know there are regulations about live video on in-car screens, but 1. That does not stop people from watching videos on their phones while driving and 2. Somehow that does not apply to maps?

it works well in the realm of politics because now centrists are a-okay with genocide so long as they believe that the other guy is going to genocide harder.

it strikes me as an extension to proletarian internationalism since this recommends that we consider all factors from all places together to help define out spot on that graph like trotskyism seems to espouse. again, i barely understand proletarian internationalism or trotskyism at this stage of my (painfully slow) self edification so please to don't slap me down for drawing parallels on something i know very little about.

i've grown more aware that people see their politics as an extension of their identities so making false statements can make people irrationally angry; but i'm assuming that i'm a safe space where i can ask stupid/clueless questions that might sound like i'm being willfully ignorant or intentionally misinterpreting theory.

Capitalism being the dominant global ideology necessarily sets limits on the types of local development that are possible. We've also seen time and again that capitalist world is aggressively hostile to alternative forms of development.
The core idea behind proletarian internationalism is the fact that capitalist exploitation is a common thread that unites all workers. We cannot have liberation of workers in one country at the expense of the workers in another. This is why ideas like Nordic socialism are inherently flawed. We have to find solutions that lead to global liberation.
