Well the windows case sensitivity is not just Bad or bad1 but also baD2 too.

Unix users think it’s bad, Bad, bAd, baD, BAd, bAD, BaD and BAD

Pro Tip: If you want to really annoy Windows git users, just put some on Windows "illegal characters" in the filenames before committing. It is even funnier, if the git server has no UI where it could be fixed quickly.

How Putin won the Romanian election

Politico clarifies that the overwhelming majority of votes were cast for Calin Georgescu not because of a sudden love for Russia, as is generally presented in the West, but because of the deep disappointment of the residents of the Balkan country with their authorities.

“People have developed this idea that everything is manipulated anyway, everything is decided behind closed doors and what you see and who you vote for is much less important,” she said. “People’s perception is that political life and institutions are dominated by these murky networks of interest … I think to a large extent that perception is correct.”

said Oana Popescu-Zamfir, director of the Bucharest-based Foreign and Security Policy Analytical Center.

Have they considered spending less on war and more on education / R&D?
in reply to emergencyfood

Why would they consider anything like that? they want China to be worse, not America to be better.

Mastodon Annual Report 2023

in reply to flamingos-cant

I thought it was a typo, but no. They really are releasing the 2023 annual report in the last few days of 2024.
in reply to kersploosh

They do, at least, acknowledge this:

We recognise that this Annual Report for 2023 is arriving later than we had intended. Going forward, we plan to release our Annual Report for 2024 in Q1 of 2025, where we will establish clear and ambitious goals for 2025 and beyond. This adjusted timeline allows us to provide more timely insights and better align our reporting with our ongoing growth and development.
in reply to flamingos-cant

Also I guess it makes sense that they've been too busy with everything else to have a timely release of a perfectly crafted annual report.

It would be nice to have a report earlier because I'm interested, but in terms of transparency needs this is fine.

If a team of three full time employeesand a limited budget had plenty of time to write up reports, that would maybe be a bit of a red flag as well.
