11 Israelis injured in Houthi missile attack

At least 11 Israelis were injured early Tuesday while rushing to shelters after a missile launched from Yemen targeted central Israel, according to Israeli public broadcaster KAN.

The Israeli army said its air defenses intercepted the missile before it entered Israeli airspace. Air-raid sirens were sounded across central Israel, prompting hundreds of thousands to seek shelter.

Medical teams treated 11 people for injuries sustained while running to shelters, with four others receiving treatment for panic, the broadcaster reported.

The Houthi group later confirmed that it had carried out the strike, saying that it targeted the Israeli Defense Ministry with a hypersonic ballistic missile.

Will 1023 byte filename break software? Most only support 256.

Wasn't raidz expansion already in a tagged version or did I miss remember?

Stavridis says Trump’s plan for Greenland ‘not a crazy idea’

It strikes me that we are witnessing a self-fulfilling prophecy in the making. It started out as mere act of trolling that the media ran with in its insatiable hunger for spectacle, amplifying it beyond reason. And now, what began as frivolity has turned into a subject of earnest debate.

This is how you wound up with trump in the first place. The unfettered irresponsibility of corporate media barons

Wow I never thought I'd see europeans support the genocide of brown people. \s
in reply to Garibaldee

Wow, the EU is just as shitty as the US Government in facilitating genocide.

Fifteen months of Israeli bombardment, cheered on by the US, Britain and Germany, leave conditions in Gaza ‘unimaginable’

There, I fixed their headline for them

I don't know how China can hope to match the US in global power and influence if they don't have access to the most generic anime softcore porn you've ever seen

This makes facebook officially the enemy of the Fediverse and the open internet.

Defederate from them completely everywhere they show up. They can't be trusted.

The Beginner’s guide to Friendica

in reply to Sunshine (she/her)

Honestly, friendica seems cool, in the same way Facebook seemed cool in the early days, but if we're remaking social media for the fediverse, can we try to remake Myspace instead?
in reply to Dharma Curious (he/him)

They did already actually! spacehey.com/

I don't think it's part of the fediverse tho... I've heard hubzilla is the closest to MySpace but none of them are 100%

in reply to Maven (famous)

I forgot about spacehey! I made an account and never got around to setting it up. Shame it's not part of the fediverse, though! Myspace had that part where you could, like, post a random letter or something that wasn't confined to your friends. I can't remember what it was called. I just remember Mrs. Abnorman Punkrockwell used to post open letters. Lmao. Anyway, it would be perfect for integrating into Mastodon, and Myspace groups would be perfect for integrating into Lemmy.

I'm pissed at myself for skipping over myspace. How much control do they give you over your page? It looks pretty robust.

Someone please make a dedicated iOS app for Friendica

Meta Is blocking links to decentralized Instagram competitor Pixelfed

Meta is deleting links to Pixelfed, a decentralized Instagram competitor. On Facebook, the company is labeling links to Pixelfed.social as “spam” and deleting them immediately.

...

Bluesky user AJ Sadauskas originally posted that links to Pixelfed were being deleted by Meta; 404 Media then also tried to post a link to Pixelfed on Facebook. It was immediately deleted.

Pixelfed is experiencing a surge in user signups in recent days, after Meta announced that it would loosen its rules to allow users to call LGBTQ+ people “mentally ill” amid a host of other changes that shift the company overtly to the right. Meta and Instagram have also leaned heavily into AI-generated content. Pixelfed announced earlier Monday that it is launching an iOS app later this week.

Pixelfed said Sunday it is “seeing unprecedented levels of traffic to pixelfed.social.”

I get called cranky or asked why I'm in a shitty mood even if I'm having a wicked good time because I don't feel the need to show other people how I feel. I'll smile when I feel it's appropriate, I'm not gonna plaster a smile over myself just to make you feel better about yourself.

And fuck you I'm at work, why would I smile.

Are you saying next are going to be Facebook, Twitter and maybe Fox? Dont give me hope...
