I hate the Reddit app, give me back RIF and I'll abandon this place in a heartbeat. Give me a paid Reddit option to fuck the adds off and Ill take it. Ill pay $20 a month not to have to listen to you neckbeards to try and make literally every conversation about capitalism, linux or Trump.
Bunch of one note ass motherfuckers, you think I dont know the world sucks? I want some escapism for fuck sake.
The frontpage was never good, but hooo boy.
Every time I catch a peek now it's the same Am I the Asshole (they're obviously not), Am I Overreacting (My husband called me 15 different slurs, AIO????), and the same stupid AskReddit questions (Americans of Reddit, how do you feel living in a ruined country?)
I swear, back then there were bots reposting old posts and reply chains, now they must be AI generating the whole thing because all the frontpage shit is the exact same posts, following the same format, day after day.
At this point I wouldn't go back even if rolled back their shitty changes.

sick of lemmy's shit but there's nowhere better to go?
I came here when the reddit api thing happened, and have since blocked .ml because I don't want to deal with their shit. Problem though, the .ml admins are the lemmy devs, so using lemmy at all supports .ml and their bullshit.
Where else is there? Hive is a crypto scam, and every other option I've seen suggested isn't like reddit or lemmy. I guess there's piefed, but I don't understand how that isn't just lemmy but worse/different (if someone can explain it to me please do).
PieFed is parallel to Lemmy so it's being developed by other people, afaik. I think that's the beauty of the Fediverse, that if you don't like something or someone, you're free to make your own.
If your main gripe is with the devs, then definitely switch. I've been meaning to but I've been lazy. So I guess see you on the other side!

I don't even know how to block an instance, but even if I did, idk if I like the idea of just nuking that much content in one swoop.
Also would that block posts from users of that instance in other instances (like if one of them posted in this comment chain)? I have nothing against the folks who do enjoy that stuff - I don't want to see the furry crap in my feed, but someone from a furry instance posting non-furry crap elsewhere is fine.
No, just the posts, I don't think you have the ability to block comments from one instance.
And if an entire instance is dedicated to NSFW content, the chances of missing something good are slim to none.
I use Boost, I'm not sure if it's an app feature or a platform feature.

Huh? Communists in Weimar Germany were denouncing Social democrats as social fascists and fought them because they were part of the capitalist liberal democratic system. Communists and Nazis at times were even allies of convenience against democracy.
Soon after the communist Soviets split Poland with Hitler.
I told a Nazi spouting hate to drink bleach. what did I learn?
Reddit is full of Nazi supporting scum.
edit: I also got banned from imgur for telling a person promoting the euthanasia of disabled people was better than allowing them to "dirty the pool". I also told them to drink bleach.
Imagine my surprise when a US president tells people the same thing and gets reelected!
The social democrats gave military hardware to the freikorp to put down the communists and arranged the assassination of Rosa Luxembourg. The communists said the SPD were creating the conditions for fascism, and they were correct. Hitler came to power when the SPD ran a conservative candidate as their "best shot at stopping the nazis". They won. That conservative proceeded to staff the government with nazis while cracking down on the left until it was trivial for the nazis to engineer a coup.
Regarding the molotov-ribontrope, if thats an alliance of convenience, what is every capitalist power arming Germany and splitting Czechslovakia between Germany and Poland, while ignoring the USSR's offer to invade Germany with 1 million men?
(yeah I'm posting wikipedia, I don't feel like spending the rest of my sunday night hunting down the specific books on libgen that are cited on each page, suffice it to say these are events which did occur, and even English Wikipedia doesn't deny them, the problem with a lot of these pacts is that they are named different things by different countries)
Four-Power Pact (worth noting france did not ratify)
Anti Comintern Pact since this was between Japan/Germany there's less amnesia about it
German Romanian Economical Treaty March 1939
German Ultimatum to Lithuania in March 1939 seems a bit unfair to characterize as a treaty tbh
"Pact of Steel" with Italy 1939 Now THIS is actually a military alliance pact, which is what people keep characterizing molotov-ribbentrop as
Danish-German non aggression pact May 1939 this one isn't wikipedia
Germany Estonia N-A-Pact June 7th 1939
German-Latvian N-A-Pact June 7th 1939
Also it's worth noting that even though the USA never signed a non aggression pact with nazi germany, american capitalists were quite fond of funding nazis, doing trade with nazis, and even hosting nazi party rallies in the United States (such as one in madison square garden in 1939). And there was even a fascist attempt at a coup against FDR, that was thwarted by smedley butler being a whistleblower.
What makes people freak out about molotov ribbentrop is the agreement to partition states. the reason for this is because the USSR needed time to deconstruct factories and move them east before the luftwaffe could bomb them. The USSR made a calculated risk that by dividing poland they could move the future war front far west of where it would otherwise be if they refused a non aggression pact and just got invaded right away, and at the same time, move their war industry far east of the war front. Of course by making this calculated risk they gave an easy propaganda victory to all bourgeois nations who experience collective amnesia about every other non aggression pact, as well as their categorical refusal to enter into collective security against fascism with the "bolshevik menace" in the 1930s. It is somewhat similar to how USSR tried to join NATO in the 50s and was refused. The bourgeois nations never wanted collective security or peace with the USSR, even when it was on the table. In particular the USSR only invaded finland because it was the most convenient route to invade the USSR, and the Finnish (a future axis power) wouldn't sell them the land that the nazis eventually used to invade.
Yes, the social democrats wanted a liberal parliamentary democracy, not a Soviet stay with dictatorship of the proletariat. The communists tried a communist revolution and they lost. The alternative would have been a civil war, maybe even a breakup of Germany. Most people wanted stability and get back to their lives after WW1.
The communists continuously avoided moderation and compromise with the social democrats. They fought against the Weimar Republic actively. Many were accelerationists, who thought the rise of the Nazis would be to their benefit in the end.
Glimpses of Coronal Rain
Despite its incredible heat, our sun‘s corona is so faint compared to the rest of the star that we can rarely make it out except during a total solar eclipse. But a new adaptive optic technique has given us coronal images with unprecedented detail.
These images come from the 1.6-meter Goode Solar Telescope at Big Bear Solar Observatory, and they required some 2,200 adjustments to the instrument’s mirror every second to counter atmospheric distortions that would otherwise blur the images. With the new technique, the team was able to sharpen their resolution from 1,000 kilometers all the way down to 63 kilometers, revealing heretofore unseen details of plasma from solar prominences dancing in the sun’s magnetic field and cooling plasma falling as coronal rain.
The team hope to upgrade the 4-meter Daniel K. Inouye Solar Telescope with the technology next, which will enable even finer imagery. (Image credit: Schmidt et al./NJIT/NSO/AURA/NSF; research credit: D. Schmidt et al.; via Gizmodo)

FitGirl games installation stuck at around 0.0% (Linux)
I've tried to install the following games:
- The Last of us Part I
- One More Night
but for both, the game installation stuck at around 0.0%, so I think this is not a problem with games per se but maybe with my pc/wine configuration. The fun fact is that, a week ago, I was able to install Clair Obscure Expedition 33 without issue.
Can anyone help me?
This is my pc configuration:
- ChachyOS with zen-kernel
- CPU: Ryzen 5 2600X
- GPU: RX 7800 XT
- 16 GB of RAM at 2133 MHz
- 1 TB nvme SSD
I tried the following fixes:
- verify BIN files before installation
- use the Russian language for the installer
- deleted any special character in the folder name of the executable and put such folder in a subfolder of the C drive
- install the game in a subfolder of the C drive
- limit installer to 2 GB of RAM usage
- every wine tricks in the FitGirl troubleshooting page
- use brand-new wine prefix

Repacks Troubleshooting - FitGirl Repacks
This page will help you to solve typical problems, which can appear while installing repacks (mine included) and running installed games.FitGirl Repacks
Yep! Wine does NOT work with larger Fitgirl Repacks (>1 GB).
Lutris with Proton-GE works flawlessly though. Never had any issue.
How is the process now? Last time I tried, a few years ago, the whole thing was so confusing to me that it was much easier to get a second ssd and dual boot windows. Now I'm planning to ditch windows completely but I haven't looked into it yet.
I remember there was a add game button then add the installer but once the installer finished I didn't know where the game went. I only remember installing successfully the witcher 3 not being sure how.
It's really simple actually. It took me a bit of time to figure it out the first time though since there were no usable guides anywhere. As luck has it, I have actually written a full, comprehensive guide I wanted to post on here eventually. If you want to, try following this "beta" version of it:
An actually comprehensive guide for installing FitGirl Repacks using Lutris on Linux [Beta]
I'm frankly surprised there is not a single guide which explains this process. Sure, there is this one on Reddit from nearly 6 years ago but it is both outdated and its assumption there is a user install script provided by the Lutris community rarely ever holds true.
So, let this be a guide for the full FitGirl Repacks install process for newcomers to Lutris. I will be using the game "Beacon Pines" as example because it's decent (it has received FitGirls's Pink Paw Award after all) and rather small so if anything goes wrong you can quickly redo the process:
First of all, acquire the files. I have stored them in ~/Downloads/Beacon Pines [Fitgirl Repack]/
Verify the BIN files before installation (optional)
In case you have eyes, you may spot the Verify BIN files before installation.bat file. This calls an .exe to verify the MD5 hashes of the .bin files containing the game data. It's likely redundant, as your torrent client (or browser if you used a direct download) verified the integrity already but it doesn't hurt to double check.
- Head to
/<game name> [Fitgirl Repack]/MD5(in my case~/Downloads/Beacon Pines [Fitgirl Repack]/MD5 - Execute
QuickSFV.EXEusing Wine. I just ranwine QuickSFV.EXEin the console. This window should then open: - VERIFY WHETHER YOU ARE IN THE CORRECT DIRECTORY IF THIS IS NOT THE FIRST FITGIRL REPACK YOU INSTALL. The program "remembers" the last location and does not choose your current working directory by default except for the very first time. Once you have chosen the correct directory, select the
fitgirls-bins.md5file.- Done! You can safely close this window. If any file is detected as missing/bad you should probably re-download everything.
Prepare to run the installer
- Before you run the installer, you should make sure everything will be nice and tidy. By that, I mean you should create a directory where the game and the Wine prefix will be located. I chose
~/Games/Beacon Pinesfor my install. - Now, within Lutris click on the (+) button on the top left and select the option "Add locally installed game" at the bottom of the newly opened menu:
- Within the "Game info" tab of the new menu, choose a name and select the "Wine" runner:
- Within the "Game options" tab, choose the
/<game name> [FitGirl Repack]/setup.exefile as Executable and the previously created directory as your Wine Prefix. This is where Wine will create the virtualizeddrive_cdirectory, so this second part is very important to keep everything organized. - Finally, within the "Runner options" tab, select GE-Proton (Latest). Wine rarely works for larger repacks (though for Beacon Pines, the default Wine runner happens to work).
I recommend changing this globally by the way by selecting the gear icon for Wine in your "Runners" tab in the main menu and then switching the setting just like above. After all, the Wine version Lutris defaults to is outdated and shouldn't be used anymore: - Press "Save". You should now see the installer in your Lutris game library:
Run the installer
- Double-click or press on "Play" to start the installer.
- Once you have clicked through the title and information screen - you probably don't need to limit the RAM to 2 GB - you will land at this screen. You MUST change the default folder. By default, it will be
Z:\Games\<game name>- which maps to/Games/<game name>on your Linux file system. And while you can throw away all conventions and have a game directory in your root, it is probably not the smartest thing to do. Besides, the installer doesn't even have the permission to create this folder and will fail:Rather, you should select your
C:\folder as the location to install the game. This will map to the path you earlier specified as the Wine root directory - in my case~/Games/Beacon Pines/drive_c/Beacon Pines.
Also, you can disable "Create a desktop shortcut" as that option doesn't do anything for you (except waste a couple of kilobytes of storage). You can later create a desktop shortcut through Lutris if you want one: - Install ALL components it shows you. Your Wine prefix does not yet have DirectX/C++ Redistributable/Whatever installed as it is bare bones. In order to run games, you need these files. In theory you could create a single Wine prefix for all your games which would save some storage (because you didn't have to install DirectX dozens of times, once for each game) but this causes much worse portability.
- Press "Install" and wait!
- Finally, if applicable only select the "Update DirectX" (as well as C++ Redistributable etc) check boxes. You don't want to launch the game just yet (even though you could in theory as everything is installed):
As for the Redirection setting: It won't work on Linux; just use uBlock Origin (you may need to activate some more filter list in Ublock's settings though):
- Press "Finish", let the check run through and then close this window. A new window for installing DirectX/C++ Redistributable etc. should open up afterwards.
Add the game to Lutris
- Just like earlier, press the (+) button in Lutris and then select "Add a locally installed game"
- Within the "Game info" tab, use the correct game name. This will allow Lutris to automatically recognize the game and download relevant assets such as the icon and the cover image. In my case, the name is just "Beacon Pines". Common abbreviations (such as GTA for Grand Theft Auto) should also work but don't rely on them. Remember to select the Wine runner!
- Within the "Game info" tab, choose the newly created .exe as your executable. It is located where you installed it. Since I chose
~/Games/Beacon Pinesas my Wine prefix andC:\Beacon Pinesas my install directory within the FitGirl installer, the .exe is located in the directory:~/Games/Beacon Pines/drive_c/Beacon Pines/.
As for the Wine prefix: Use the same as earlier: - If you didn't select Proton-GE as your global Wine runner, you should select it in "Runner options" like earlier.
- You should now see the game alongside its automatically downloaded cover image within Lutris. Enjoy! The installer can safely be removed from Lutris now; it will not delete anything in your file system (neither the setup.exe, nor the Wine prefix used by the newly installed game).
Thanks! Now I understand it much better. I'm saving it for future reference. As soon as I get a new drive I'm trying it.
Thanks again!

I'd highly recommend using Dodi instead. I dont know what causes it, but FitGirls installers have been doing this for years. There are some steps that can fix it, but its very inconsistent. Meanwhile, I havent had a Dodo install fail.
If you'd really prefer FitGirls repacks you can run the installer in a Windows VM and move the files to the host.
Don't use fitgirls repacks with Linux. Its always trouble. For some reason their installer fails in different ways depending on the game.
Use dodi
unarc.dll and ISDone.dll are common culprits with Fitgirl on Linux I think in an unresolved YMMV situation.
Try DODI instead.

For Linux, this is kind of a stupid workaround but I've had success, add the installer as a non-steam game and run it through proton by switching to it in the "game's" compatibility. Running it through wine has been hit or miss for me, it'll crash or freeze up, but proton has worked pretty well so far.
Then after unpacking, install the game's .exe as a non-steam game and run that through proton, deleting the first installer from your library
Ran into this issue recently. Saw a random post on the other site about it being a wine bug. That led me down the path of trying older versions of wine and that solved the problem.
Grab the last version of wine 9 from github.com/Kron4ek/Wine-Builds and run the installer from the directory where wine 9 was unpacked.
./wine /path/to/game/installer
Hopefully it'll get fixed soon in wine 10 but given the nature of the bug, that could take a while.

Detta trots att det aldrig har funnits nåt hot om våldsamheter från den svenska vänstern. De enda våldsamma handlingarna utfördes istället av en av de män som Säpo anställt för att infiltrerar vänstern.

Does the US have citizens iniatives?
This isn't just a change.org petition. In the EU (and a lot of member countries) theres a system for citizens initiatives, which have the same or similar legal weight as laws proposed by legislators.
That doesn't mean the proposed laws get passed, but it does mean the people can bypass the politicians in order to at least get something onto the starting line.
They had the "We the people" platform, started by Obama. But Trump started ripping it apart, and Biden pulled the plug on his first day in the office.
And even then instead of being people driven, the US administration would choose what they want to address or not. For all the excesses of EU bureaucracy, there are plenty cases like this where it prevents politicians from ignoring people's concerns; they can still refuse to act, but at least the petition system forces them to go on record.
No, no no.
You have to input your name, address, and various ways of establishing your EU member state, such as an EU electronic visa/id, or your specific EU state drivers liscence or tax id or some such, and the form makes it very obvious you must actually be an EU citizen.
Examples:
Poland
Portugal
Estonia
Its possible there could be spam or accidental/malformed inputs... but if you are putting fake info into an official government portal, especially en masse, thats potentially a number of crimes, and if its a genuine mistake from an EU citizen, it seems like there is a review process where people will be contacted and allowed to fix up their info.
Also, technically, there are a few countries with more lax submission requirements, such as the Netherlands, likely due to more intense personal privacy laws... but its not like this system is not logging people's IPs, not like they won't be taking that into acount.
This isn't a change.org petition, its an official EU government portal for a core process of democracy.
Knowingly falsifying info on this is again, potentially a large number of crimes, as if you say lied on voting registration, or lied to Social Security or your US state's unemployment assistance system.

You misunderstand me. It wasn't out of consideration for you; it's just a vote. I just want to remind myself that the person I want to be doesn't make snap judgements on half of a hot take. There hasn't been enough substance to affect me. You don't have to answer my original question, but I am still curious.
It‘s not about games that never need an internet connection
That is half correct. The big point is for games that are singleplayer that you pay up front for that require a internet connection for no good reason.
Well, it requires one because the producer said so, not because the game can't function otherwise. That's what makes it half-correct.
Having the "server" locally hosted on your device would fix it, but they just let it die without allowing those who purchased the game to be capable of playing it. That's the big push behind this movement, not online only multiplayer games. Everyone knows those die eventually.
This has the same chance of moving the needle as petitioning congress to lower their salaries.
The industry doesn’t give a shit if you don’t like what they’re doing. They know damn well you’ll keep shoveling money into their banks regardless of what they do.
It’s the same shit YouTube is doing. No matter what end-user insulting, batshit insane decision they make, everyone will continue to use their product and do all their advertising for them.

Persson left Mojang because he was, I imagine like the entire Mojang crew, unprepared for the monolithic success of Minecraft. These are apparently also his reasons for selling to M$: He disliked the fame and responsibility, and wanted to return to what an indie dev always wants - to make smaller games and have a wholesome connection with the gaming community. The last straw for him was a lot of people being assholes at him just because he's the lead dev of Mojang. So, he handed the reins to Jens Bergensten. GameRant source
On an unrelated side note, Persson has got some shitty opinions, but is quick at patching and apologising for some of them. Im 2016-2019 he expressed anti trans, misogynistic and racist views on Twitter. So, he's hateful, but he supports consumers. Wikipedia source

Reject Western Marxism, defend the socialist countries, and stand with the peoples of the world against imperialism - Friends of Socialist China
On Saturday 5 July 2025, Friends of Socialist China hosted – along with the Morning Star, the International Manifesto Group, Critical Theory Workshop and Iskra books – a discussion of Domenico Losurdo’s crucial book, Western Marxism: How it was Born,…Friends of Socialist China
The Gang of Four were ultraleft dogmatists that ultimately broke the mass line. You cannot command communism into existence, you have to build it, and what is built must come from what is already ready-made. The Dengist reforms did come with struggles and unique problems, but ultimately stablized and increased economic development, and prevented the bourgeoisie or imperialists from coming to power via retaining state control over the large firms and key industries.
You're correct in saying that little of Maoism remains. Marxism-Leninism-Mao Zedong Thought (now also Xi Jinping Thought) is what remains, not the Gonzaloist ultraleft Marxism-Leninism-Maoism nor the Gang of Four's ultraleftism. The PRC is a Socialist Market Economy, and is steadily developing towards higher rates of socialization of the economy without falling into the pitfalls of dogmatist idealism like they did earlier.
This is utter idealism.
The PRC regularly implements Five Year Plans, the largest industries are state owned and run. The state doesn't need to operate in the capitalist circuit of M-C...P...C'-M'. The way to transition from an economy dominated by private property to a fully collectivized and planned, centralized economy, is through gradual sublimation of property under the direction of a socialist state. You cannot simply will communism into existence like you imply.
The USSR similarly was socialist, not "state capitalist." State capitalism is a better descriptor for economies like Bismark's Germany, the Republic of Korea, or Singapore, not the PRC nor USSR.
And no, socialism is not "charity." The fact that the PRC is not imperialist isn't becausd they are nice, but because they lack the dominance of financial capital that results in imperialism. This is the basic Leninist analysis of imperialism, of course the PRC is going to serve its own interests, but that doesn't mean every interaction between more and less developed countries is necessarily imperialist.
Again, you never back up any of your claims, they are mired in vibes and idealism.
I never said the PRC was a paradise. It's in the early, developing stages of socialism, and has a long way to go. Further, Marx did speak of censorship and state control, measure 6 listed in the Communist Manifesto states that "Centralisation of the means of communication and transport in the hands of the State" is one of the key aspects of a new proletarian state destined to wither away.
Marx supported the Paris Commune, but not because of its model. He supported it as a true dictatorship of the proletariat, but found that it was utterly ineffective as a model, because the communards never smashed and replaced the state, merely took hold of it, which is why it faded while socialism in the PRC is alive and well.
You have far more in common with anarchists if your analysis of the state involves equating the M-C...P...C'-M' circuit of capitalist production with state-run production. Making a Five Year Plan alone is not socialism, the Republic of Korea copied the soviet five year plan models in a thorougly state capitalist dictatorship, but it is representative of how much control the state has in an economy.
In an economy where public ownership is the principle aspect, this is a sign of socialization of the economy, in an economy where private ownership is principle like the ROK, this is an example of state capitalism. Reading Capital is necessary, or at least Wage Labor and Capital and Value, Price, and Profit. And yes, the PRC does have a bourgeoisie, and it will until it reaches communism. You cannot get rid of the bourgeoisie with a stroke of a pen, but through economic compulsuon.
I am being harsh with you because I hold Marxists to higher standards, I want to make this clear. You're already on the right track, but you have a long way to go, chiefly in understanding the concepts of Scientific Socialism, the Marxist theory of the state, and Dialectical Materialism. If you want, I can make some good recommendations for reading to help. When a Marxist relies on idealist analysis to attack Marxists while taking on the mantle of Marxism, they ultimately prove an effective weapon for the imperialist bourgeoisie.
This, again, is wrong. Self-management is a petite bourgeois artifact, not a proletarian conception. The Paris Commune wasn't temporary intentionally, it was temporary because it failed. The socialism of the USSR was not "permanent," no system is capable of being static, not socualism nor capitalism nor communism.
Further, the elimination of the state is not an active decision. It withers in that as soon as all property is centralized, there is no more class, and thus no state. Centralized production is the method of communist production, the government will not cease, but the class character of the state will wither.
Again, you really should read Socialism: Utopian and Scientific. Here's a great excerpt from Engels:
When ultimately it becomes the real representative of the whole of society, it renders itself superfluous. As soon as there is no social class to be held in subjection any longer, as soon as class domination and the struggle for individual existence based on the anarchy of production existing up to now are eliminated together with the collisions and excesses arising from them, there is nothing more to repress, nothing necessitating a special repressive force, a state. The first act in which the state really comes forward as the representative of the whole of society -- the taking possession of the means of production in the name of society -- is at the same time its last independent act as a state. The interference of the state power in social relations becomes superfluous in one sphere after another, and then dies away of itself. The government of persons is replaced by the administration of things and the direction of the processes of production. The state is not "abolished", it withers away. It is by this that one must evaluate the phrase "a free people's state" with respect both to its temporary agitational justification and to its ultimate scientific inadequacy, and it is by this that we must also evaluate the demand of the so-called anarchists that the state should be abolished overnight.
I'm not trying to be mean, but I do legitimately think you're running into theoretical obstacles due to not having much experience with reading theory or with organizational practice, these are pretty basic errors on your part that you haven't justified, just made an appeal to Marx without actually explaining why. It almost turns Marx into a religious figure, not as someone with a working methodology for bringing about socialism as proven by AES like the PRC and USSR. You have an odd combo of idealist Marxism, anarchism, and some degree of Trotskyism melded together, and I think returning to the basics would be beneficial.
Luxemburgism is not Marxism in general. You are pushing Luxemburg onto Marx. Secondly, all states are authoritarian, in that all states resolve class contradictions in favor of one class over others, you cannot reject "authoritarianism" without working towards the end of class. Luxemburgism died. Luxemburg herself has wonderful works like Reform or Revolution, but this is not to mean that everything she says is correct.
Next, the withering of the state. The state can only wither once all production is collectivized and centralized as these are the conditions for eliminating class, at no time in history has this been possible. There is no need for class oppression when there is no class, the state could never fade in the USSR or PRC, Cuba, or the EZLN.
Again, you have a weird mix of anarchism, idealist Marxism, and Trotskyism, which can be solved by reading the basics (again, if you haven't), and joining an org.
The commune army existed, yes. It worked for a very short while, but ultimately was swiftly crushed by the very real and still existing bourgeois army. In a revolution, the state must be crushed and replaced with one dominated by the proletariat. The fact that the communard's had an army for a brief period of time does not work in their favor, Marx spent a great deal of time post-Paris Commune trying to figure out where the communards went wrong and how the future proletariat can make use of that info.
The disorganization and lack of discipline in the army of the communards directly contributed to its own demise. You cannot let the perfect, dreamlike, fictional system in your head be the enemy of the real proletariat as it exists in real life. A repeat of the Paris Commune would be crushed the same exact way, same as a Luxemburgist revolution.

in reply to brot • • •Okay, this is something I'm going to have to test. This article left me with more questions than answers, especially when the writer claimed that pregnant sims can't woohoo or take a pregnancy test. I can't tell if they mean since this patch pregnant sims can't do those things, or if they haven't played the game enough to know that those things are false. The fact there's a question mark in parentheses doesn't help.
Also, the screenshot showing a child not be able to do something because they're "pregnant" doesn't necessarily mean the sim is pregnant - it could well be a bug related to how the menu is displayed, which sounds possible since it seems to be occuring across the board. The article is about sims being pregnant, but not about them having babies, and I find that an odd distinction.
But I have this game, and the patch is already downloaded. Let's see if I'm a lucky winner and this bug shows up.
To game for science!
Edit: I tried with a fresh, new, mod-free game file. I tried with an old game file both with and without mods. Alas, I was unable to recreate this glitch in my game.
