Made a graph of the "wider" fediverse - is this correct?
Been reading some docs and felt like drawing to get a better picture.
Some things to note:
- Parenthesis indicate bridges
- Fed Bridgy and Mostr appear twice because I don't know if they allow cross-communication
- One-way arrows (→) indicate one-way communication, and two-ways arrows (⇄) indicate the two sides can talk with each other
- Threads to/from Facebook and Instagram communication appears with an interrogation mark because the information I could find didn't feel conclusive and I don't have an account to test myself
- Maybe I missed some bridges and protocols, but that'd be more of a lack of knowing; also intentionally ignored X/Twitter > Nitter > RSS > ActicityPub bridges because it felt too much of a stretch.
Wasn't quite sure how to fit WordPress, as well as either Minds and Threads, as all 3 end up being, from what I could tell, hybrids.
But interesting. Now that you mention it, I remembered NodeBB also implemented ActivityPub compatibility, though can't remember if it's through optional plugins or if it became an ActivityPub platform altogether. Gonna look up what other softwares are in this situation too.

‘Coalition of the willing’ nations to hold call on ending war in Ukraine
Leaders of the “coalition of the willing” group of nations will hold a video call on Thursday as chaotic American efforts to push through a peace deal to end the war in Ukraine reach a crunch moment.
Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said his officials would hand over a revised version of a peace plan to US negotiators on Wednesday before the call with leaders and officials from about 30 countries.

Simple as that. But Russia knew since day 1 that "the West" won't want to commit itself fully. Easy prediction since that's exactly what happened in 2014 and basically all Russia's expansionist activity since the 90s.
Well here's to hoping that this will change. It has to change, really.

Can you give the specific, Nazi actions or policies Ukraine has placed on it's people. I'm not a huge expert on Ukrainian politics. But say if someone were to ask me what nazi like things the US is doing, I'd be able to say
Making threats to attack neighboring countries (Canada, Greenland, Panema), directly attacking other countries like Venuzuala and Iran. Putting people in camps, raising the police state, canceling citizenship of american citizens, prosecuting journalists, Restricting rights for LGBT.
I can make a long list for Russia and Isreal as well.
So educate me, as far as I can see Ukrain seemed to keep to it's self pretty well. I've not really heard any examples of extreme authoritarianism or attacking journalists, or finding an outgroup to persecute.. or anything to imply they had any intent of threatening any of their neighboring countries.
Given a recent high profile terrorist attack, I think this list is a bit too black and white.
Then again the chain of causality eventually leads back to the war crimes (not against Palestinians) of two members of that list so maybe not.

I wonder why this is considered surprising. If a country considers it acceptable to use a name of a unit of 1940's Nazi Germany as a name for its contemporary unit, why is it a surprise that the country does stuff typical to Nazis?

in reply to NimaMag • • •So I read through a lot of that project 2025 book.
Firstly I feel I have to say that the person who wrote it is an absolute idiot and his poor education and knowledge of not only economics, biology, general social effects, and human behavior is a joke.
Like my god. Give it a read. Also it's all printed in large font to look like a big impressive book.
With lots of formatting.
It's actually like a novella if it wasn't in a big text format with all the spacing. So it's an easy fast read.
Okay now to get to my point.
The p2025 plan is to move kids to private Christian schools by using a few tactics. One is paying teachers nothing and removing education loan forgiveness for teachers.
But. The plan also says that at present they don't have their own Christian teachers. So they say something like , Christian teachers need to be created. Encouraged to exist.
But gives no suggestions on how to do that.
No one wants to actually deal with the kids nor their parents.

No one wants to actually deal with the kids nor their parents.
Especially now. It's already hard to be a teacher. It's a passion profession. Few have the mental fortitude. Plus you need a higher education that is expensive.
And Christian conservative women are discouraged from getting higher educations.
And conservative men see teaching as women's work as it's caregiving.
So a bit of a paradox.
How is it going to work if they fuck over all the k-12 teachers to get rid of them. and where are the replacements going to come from?
Cause cutting the student loans will restrict the conservative women from getting teaching educations too.
The project 2025 book is full of these type of problems with zero foresight into their inivitabile outcomes, nor offers any solution.
It creates a lot of problems with some intended goal but the plans actually work in the opposite direction.
Like taking away preK and child care subsidies to force women to stay home with kids.
Or reducing Medicaid. Banning abortion.
These will cause lower birth rates. Not increase them.
Also you should know there are plans to force teen girls to have babies in the book. It's pretty fucked up.
I believe the age of 14 is listed. Which puts mother and baby at high risk of death, still birth, and permanent infertility.
The guy literally knows nothing of basic reproduction.
I wouldn't be surprised if he thinks babies come out of the butt hole. No joke.
Anyway. Read through the project 2025.
You won't feel scared. You will feel angry that some fucking idiot. And I mean a really ignorant uneducated, and likely low IQ individual, wrote this book. And it's being used to make policy decisions. Tariffs are in there too.
It makes no logical sense. The plans are stupid and won't produce the goals. Anyone can see that.
And when I also realized how pretentious it was with the big font and all the bullet points and spacing.... I was like. This dude is a fucking twat. Wannabe intellectual. Guy can't have an IQ above 95.
Like I try my hardest not to assume someone is stupid. Maybe just uninformed or something. But my gawd. This person is a fucking idiot.
I'm trying not to go on a tirade. Just go out and look at the book yourself.

I think a more coherent plan could have been made had they asked a homeless crack addict to write it.
I agree with you, whoever wrote that must have less than room temperature IQ.
