While studying and doing tests, I took notes in markdown and summarized every concept, so I think they could be a useful "study companion" for anyone who wants to study, learn about Linux, or just read out of curiosity.

I agree people should recruit from these radicalizing moments. I don't believe for a second that the vast majority of protestors are open or willing to learn and oppose capitalism and imperialism, but even if 1-5% want to and they're willing to listen to us then those are definitely welcome.

I love this change log, they have great demos of the changes and good descriptions of why they changed it and it is all human readable. Godot devs are awesome.
I feel the same way about Bevy. Not as impressive as Godot yet in that it doesn't have an editor and is missing a lot of things Godot has, but at the same time, the changelogs are detailed and come with screenshots and videos of the changes, as well as code examples to try out some new ways to do things
I'm so glad they made that modern UI theme the default. Had been using it myself lately. And quality of life features are always welcome. The 3D changes look really cool, too

What's the benefit of having everything be refcounted memory over Go-style garbage collection? If you have hundreds or thousands of allocations wouldn't it eventually become slower than a full GC?
Either way this is really cool. Nice to see a language that compiles to C, which is still fairly readable compared to assembly or LLVM, and can take advantage of C's much more mature optimization toolchain. Flattening out recursion is a neat trick for having your readability cake and performance too.
It's a trade off, with ref counting you get more predictable behavior since you don't have GC pauses, but you have to manually ensure you keep allocations in check. Apple has been using this approach on iOS for a while as I recall, and seems like keeping memory allocation at reasonable level hasn't been a problem in practice. I do find GC is more ergonomic overall myself, but I can see the appeal of having the control that refcounting gives you for system level stuff.

Israel says it has found the body of the last Israeli captive left in Gaza, amid local reports of heavy shelling and bulldozing during the search.
According to the Wafa news agency, the operations to find Ran Gvili, a 24-year-old policeman, were launched on Sunday morning.
The Israeli army carried out extensive bulldozing operations in the area of al-Sanafour and around the al-Batsh cemetery, located east of Gaza City.
Several graves were desecrated during the search for Gvili, who was found east of Gaza City.
Dozens of injuries and killings in the area have been reported since Sunday as a result of heavy artillery shelling and intense gunfire from military vehicles and quadcopter drones.

I just wish I could have Secure Boot on a Mac, that's the reason I don't have one running Linux, currently on a ThinkPad X13s with a Snapdragon SoC. Encryption without something like Secure Boot... nah.

do you mean cryptographic keys? or metaphoric keys? becausd they dont need to give any cryptographics keys at all, just look how it is done on x86, you can just add your own keys and most boards let you disable the builtin ones
As there's currently no functionality for that type of Secure Boot, it'd require an exploit that manupulates the firmware, which is unlikely to happen any time soon.
The M-series hardware is locked down and absofuckinglutely proprietary and locked down and most likely horrible to repair.
But holy shit, every other laptop I’ve ever used looks and feels like a cheap toy in comparison. Buggy firmware that can barely sleep, with shitty drivers from the cheapest components they could find. Battery life in low single digits. The old ThinkPads are kinda up there in perceived ”build quality”, but I haven’t seen any other laptop that’s even close to a modern macbook. Please HP, Dell, Lenovo, Framework or whoever , just give me a functional high quality laptop. I’ll pay.
i almost want to see affordable laptops, that focus on ergonomics and dependability over cutting edge specs... the build quality is so important for using a device long term - i had a mac laptop that i bought for like 10 years ago and it amazingly still works...
I can only offer you garbage specs along with really shitty build quality for 1kEUR. It’s certified as ”not a direct fire hazard”. Take it or leave it. (/s)

it is quite unfortunate that only x86 UEFI vendors have an option (and only because it is part of the specification to have) to add your own secure boot keys, it allows for user freedom without compromising with the potential security benefit that secure boot can provide
