Quiet Exhaustion, Still Holding On

Sometimes silence isn’t patience , it’s quiet exhaustion. 🇵🇸

Support has been very limited lately,
yet we continue with what little we have,
sharing the small things and holding on to hope where we can.

If you’re able to help, even a small gesture makes a real difference 🤍

When I immigrated to Canada my process, as well as many people I know who had applied for immigration, was long and extremely picky. They asked for many documents, including detailed criminal, health, financial, educational, and work records, and all my personal info. And I was married to a Canadian. I know many decent and educated people who got rejected for not having enough credits or points. I don't understand how and WHY the government lets in unchecked citizens. I am not anti-immigration, just anti-trashy people no matter what race or religion. I am not targeting the Indian people here, just bad people who put their own people's (country's) reputation and status at a lower level. Remember all immigrants, you are ambassadors of your country, so be good citizens in your new home. Peace ✌️.

It sounds like they're running extortion rackets and assanations for Modi...

So my guess is it's less that Canada isn't checking, and more that India is issuing clean paperwork for higher-ups, while the gangs may recruit from the youth already there for soldiers.

Like, if Modi wants someone to be able to immigrate to Canada for this, he can just give them whatever paperwork is necessary. And it would be authenticly from the Indian government, zero way to catch it.

The article says the big one is now listed as a terrorist group, which means they can detain/deport anyone with the slightest of connections. So not really the same as the narrative OP is spinning where there's a broken immigration system

And the right will use this media frenzy to further their anti-immigrant agendas.
in reply to ZiggyTheZygote

What they did in the US is highlight criminals, then use that confusion and outrage to allow them to target all immigrants. So be really careful how you respond to what is being pushed to you about this. If your gut is telling you it doesn't sound right, or it doesn't align with your direct experience, be very careful you are not being used to condemn.

Hmm, what is this news source? I'm not familiar with The Spectator. Who owns that?

Sir Paul Roderick Clucas Marshall is a British hedge fund manager, philanthropist, and media baron. He is the owner of UnHerd and The Spectator, and co-owner of GB News. According to the Sunday Times Rich List, he had an estimated net worth of £875 million in 2024, up from £630 million in 2020.

Who is the writer of the article, Jane Stannus?:

Oh, I see. A PP glazer and writer for Catholic publications. Not Canadian, btw. Ok then.

Muhammad Shehada unpacked how Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is sabotaging phase two of the Gaza ceasefire. By undermining the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG), a new Palestinian technocratic body supervised by U.S. President Donald Trump’s Board of Peace, Israel is trying to make Gaza appear ungovernable — and prove the need for its sustained military rule.
