I hate that a ratios on the private tracker I joined are so bad. I feel dishonest.

My public torrents routinely have 10-25 times the ratio.

in reply to bss03

Seed longer and download freeleech then you can get out of the trap.
in reply to Appoxo

So far, everything I've wanted is freeleech, so that hasn't been an issue. I continue to seed, but the ratios are much worse for the same amount of time seeding.
in reply to bss03

The worst is when you need to do a bunch of downloading, you have no upload bandwidth, and everything is already seeded 100x with no other leechers.

Blairmore latest Alberta community to lose bank branch — a trend seen across Canada

Valerie Robinson has been a CIBC customer for almost 30 years. Now, that’s coming to an end.

She lives and does her banking in the Crownest Pass town of Blairmore, Alta..

The bank notified the community of 1,500 in September that the local branch will close on Feb. 5. The nearest other CIBC branch is about 40 kilometres away in Pincher Creek.

CIBC will remove its ATM in Blairmore too.

Robinson is worried about locals’ reduced access to cash: the currency of the small transactions that fund the life of the town.

“All of our fundraising, like with the service groups, curling, sports activities for kids — you're not going to have a kid going around with a debit machine to sell their raffle tickets, you know.”

CachyOS founder explains why they didn't join the new Open Gaming Collective (OGC)

The Open Gaming Collective (OGC) was an interesting announcement recently from a few bigger names, but the CachyOS team opted out of it and now we know why.

Sound like the typical "newish and relatively small project that hasn't figured out their organisational structure yet" problem
in reply to exu

Maybe. I'm leaning more towards the typical "letting developer toxicity run rampant" situation:

in reply to onlooker

Arguably still an organisation & governance issue, but this doesn't sound great for that dude
in reply to onlooker

I was reading through the conversations (Screenshots) in the link.
And based in what is provider there I do not see a problematic statement by antheas (or how he is called). Maybe more context is needed?

Quiet Exhaustion, Still Holding On

Sometimes silence isn’t patience , it’s quiet exhaustion. 🇵🇸

Support has been very limited lately,
yet we continue with what little we have,
sharing the small things and holding on to hope where we can.

If you’re able to help, even a small gesture makes a real difference 🤍

Hmm, what is this news source? I'm not familiar with The Spectator. Who owns that?

Sir Paul Roderick Clucas Marshall is a British hedge fund manager, philanthropist, and media baron. He is the owner of UnHerd and The Spectator, and co-owner of GB News. According to the Sunday Times Rich List, he had an estimated net worth of £875 million in 2024, up from £630 million in 2020.

Who is the writer of the article, Jane Stannus?:

Oh, I see. A PP glazer and writer for Catholic publications. Not Canadian, btw. Ok then.

in reply to eezeebee

Fallacy. South Asian gangs are becoming a real problem.
in reply to lautan

So is blatant racism masquerading as a news publication
in reply to Darkcoffee

Another logical fallacy. I hope these criminals get caught. Have a good day.
in reply to lautan

Took you a business day to come up with that banger?
in reply to lautan

Time for you to unplug from f***book and right wing (mostly US owned, or in this case British oligarch owned and written by a USian) media for a bit there buddy.

Go touch some grass and maybe read an article from a competing viewpoint once n awhile so you start to notice the blatant lies and brainwashing you are falling victim to. Its disgustingly obvious if you just bother reading both viewpoints and think even a little critically about the information you are being fed.

I find it odd that the post article is not stopping extortion but stopping Indian extortion.

If we can get rid of the Indian gangs, then we are just left with the Chinese triads and tongs, the Vietnamese gangss, the Sri Lankan gangs, the Russian gangs, the Italian mafia, and let's not forget the homegrown biker gangs.

This post has more investifative reporting than the editor and "journalist"in the Spec.
