Linux newbie needs help with solaar

Hello I'm a Linux newbie and I need some help. I'm running fedora on my laptop and I want to connect my Logitech mouse. I got solaar installed but I need to manually install the udev rule. I'm following the Instructions here

So I understand that I need to copy rules.d/42-logitech-unify-permissions.rules from the solaar GitHub and place it in /etc/udev/rules.d the thing I don't know how to do is get there. I'm not super familiar with the terminal

Solaar appears to be available through the Fedora package manager. Among other reasons, using the package manager is preferred because it gives you a mechanism to remove it cleanly, including any system changes such as the udev rule

packages.fedoraproject.org/pkg…

I'm not a Fedora user myself, but I suppose if you open the terminal and run

sudo dnf install solaar

This would install both solaar and the udev rule.

That page you linked is mac installation. You can install solaar straight from the fedora package manager, icon is a bag called Software.

The 4chan image blocking is excessive but the rest of the stuff just reads like the dev didn't think anybody else would use their software so they implemented them 'good enough' for themselves.

That whole tread just reads like a counter-moral panic by the .ml instances.

I think the muskspam community search block is an oversight, especially given that "piracy" is in that codeblock and the communities referenced here can still discover piracy communities via the community search.

Is it possible to sort out news

I know this is a broad question, and dont expect to be able to filter everything. Is there a way to filter out news on Lemmy so I can just scroll saving my mental health at times?
in reply to SpacePanda

Yes, you can block users, communities, or use the subscribed view and don't subscribe to them.

It's a YAAMT!

That's whats great about the Fediverse. It's very simple to move to another instance. May I suggest Lemmy?

Ukrainian Drone Strike Kills Woman and Child Near Mariupol

in reply to jankforlife

I wouldn't trust NATO. They should have been dissolved decades ago
in reply to EmpireInDecay

Right. Putin would love it if NATO didn't exist, because then there would be nothing stopping him from expanding the Russian empire all the way to the Atlantic.
in reply to jankforlife

We, on the other hand, don't accept Russian troops in a sovereign Ukraine.
And actually don't accept Putin in general.

While it is terrible that they will deport over 427 points when she needed 428, the article says she can retest for several hundred dollars. They claim that is too much to come up with, but are looking to put money together as they are forced to fly back.

This doesn't make sense to me.

Borrow a few hundred and do a rewrite to save your livelyhood.

She must be good enough at French, she did her masters degree in the French language.

It costs more for a flight to Mexico than a retest. Something is off here.

If they are going to the media, they probably have a hidden motive to do so.

While Colín Silva has the option of taking the exam again, she says it costs hundreds of dollars to complete and that is money she and her family cannot spare.

Her family is currently struggling to find the means to pay their rent in Quebec City and to pay for plane tickets to return to Mexico.

Out of money for the retake, rent, or plane tickets back. Sounds like they're just totally out of money.

“I don’t want to speak poorly of a country that welcomed me, but I find this really inhumane,” she said. “It’s as though we are garbage.”

I'm not seeing anything insulting about the government's position. There's a language requirement. They knew that. It sounds like the first test taking may have been free, but on failed tests, the followups have fee. Where are they being treated like garbage?

The Donroe Doctrine and the Naked Imperialism of the Venezuela Intervention

in reply to khalido

I dropped it after the devs response was to be silent about what actually happened "to focus on the f-froid builds". It's still unclear, and because of the way they've set up the GitHub repo, it's still possible for the apk to be compromised.
