in reply to Sean Murphy • • •I agree, and healthy eating is important for plenty of reasons beside obesity. So is exercise. However, there are lots of reasons why a person might be obese — physical, psychological, social, educational, industrial, even economic — and the solutions are as complex as the problem. That means weight-loss injections shouldn't be seen as a panacea but, equally, for some patients, I think they do have their place.
My guess is that they'll be overused by people who can afford them but who don't really need them, and that a minority of those people will experience side-effects worse than the consequences of obesity or the measures they should have used to lose weight. Time will tell.
