Using Kodi, I am finding plugins not working, even ones in the official repository.

Going to the source repo on Github, I see tickets of users all with the same issues as I have with no response by the authors.

Proprietary software dies due to the company going away, and poor support. We see this with even big companies like Google and Amazon, but we in the FLOSS world can't claim any moral superiority when for an average person, things just don't work.

I'm not your average user and even I'm not inclined to go learn how Kodi works and then debug an application when I've just bought some hardware from a company.

I think it's amazing that we as a community can fix things, but abandoned code is a serious issue in the FLOSS community.
