Apple officially rolls out RCS for iPhone, but many carriers still don’t support it
The linked article also contains a link to the Apple Support site, which shows what sort of services are live across the various networks around the world. As of today, 25 networks in the USA and Canada have RCS active for iPhones. In Africa, it is zero right now, but Vodacom in South Africa said they were busy with it.
Basically, each iPhone user’s network must activate RCS for iPhones. Many already have RCS active for Android devices, but there is clearly some separate activation still required for iPhones.

I have the unfortunate experience of a portable GPS unit, lithium battery powered not unlike the pagers, suddenly become extremely hot and burst into flames. No explosion.
I concur that explosives may have been added to the pagers. Exploding cell phones have been used in the past for assassination.

- I like baresip, but I couldn't configure it to register to register with 1und1.de
- sipsimpleclient.org - worked somehow on my desktop, but didn't get it installed on arm64
It doesn't need to be fancy, I'm just looking for a simple tool to let a phone ring. No need to connect nor for audio transmission.
