Hey #linux community. Some advice?

I want to have a Linux desktop to use alongside my Windows machine. I don't want to have a dual boot machine. I qas instead thinking

- set up this 10+ year old laptop as a purely linux machine
Or
- create a external drive for booting linux on my windows machine
(I've tried that with usb sticks and they are too slow)

So... like that? Or something else?

(I'm a bit tech-savy, don't ttavel much with my laptop, use it for text, some media work.)

Guess which furry just finished their college-level Python class with a perfect 100% score!

"J'ai passé près de 30 ans sans problème de sécurité sous #Linux. Et je n'installe jamais d'antivirus ou d'antimalware sur mes ordinateurs de bureau. Vous pouvez installer ce type d'applications sous Linux, mais elles resteront probablement inutilisées. Linux ne craint pas les attaques [parce qu'il] a été conçu dès le départ pour une sécurité accrue. Depuis les autorisations des utilisateurs jusqu'à SELinux et AppArmor, Linux est incroyablement sûr."

That's neat : create a partition with a minimal #archlinux #Linux recovery, built with #mkosi

I have seen this in the latest MaxOS I used and the idea is not bad.

How AI deepfakes polluted elections in 2024

The most visible use of AI in many countries was to create memes and content whose artificial origins weren't disguised. They were often openly shared by politicians and their supporters.

They finally printed the Jason Aaron-written "Uncle Scrooge and the Infinity Dime" (M USID 1-1P) here. (I say finally, six months is pretty good.)

It's a cool idea, a riff on, like, Scrooge as Thanos? But at a loaded 30 pages (with three chapter title pages) it gets nowhere near the space it needs to breathe, and ends up feeling like a sketch of a story more than anything.

in reply to Alex Daily!

Jason Aaron being American means some of this also feels actively old-school -- here in Europe we've kinda moved on from Bear Mountain, Donald's anger issues, those kinds of things. There's also a real air of the DuckTales to it all.

The reunion with Goldie in "King of the Klondike" (I TL 3479-5, Gervasio/Zanchi) in the same pocket did far more for me.

(Wild to get straight up an Alex Ross cover on a Donald Duck pocket, though.)
