When it comes to Attorney General Pam Bondi and luxury jet from Qatar, I give Democratic Sen. Dick Durbin credit for asking the right questions.

Today marks the 10th anniversary of George Miller's 'Mad Max: Fury Road', many would argue the best entry in the Mad Max series. Beyond its stunning cinematography and action scenes, the film also gave us one of the coolest and most iconic original action heroines of the last few decades in Furiosa, along with one of the most refreshing displays of camaraderie between a male and a female protagonist, primarily depicting them as two lost, broken people who gradually grew to trust and genuinely respect each other, learning to work together in trying to find the kind of redemption each of them was hoping for.

One of my favourite personal connections with 'Mad Max: Fury Road' is that I have now come to forever associate it with my Tiffie, because it is after all her favourite film of all time. Is there a hint of logic in making this claim? Nope, but it's by far the one explosion-heavy movie that has worked the best in distracting her and noticeably helping with her extreme fear of fireworks, so there's that.

A major new report by U.S. academics analyzes Israel’s occupation of Palestine under the legal framework of the crime of apartheid.

The report was intentionally released on Nakba Day — the day that marks the mass expulsion of Palestinians from their homes.

Citing dozens of experts, human rights organizations and judicial decisions, it concludes that Israel’s treatment of Palestinians “meets the legal threshold of apartheid.”

We are constantly testing both KDE Plasma mobile and Phosh desktop environments on the Divine phone. We will provide dawnos images for both DEs. This is a photo of Plasma welcome screen running on Divine D.
Stay tuned.

Meet Divine, a GNU/Linux Phone powered by Rockchip’s RK3588S. Divine D. will be our first variant, completely open for development, testing and debugging. It will bring interesting features on-board, from local AI to multi-standard connectivity. We also develop DawnOS, a mobian-based distribution tailored for our hardware, including custom Kernel and device tree.

why do people keep making the same mistake that Purism did, basing an phone OS that needs to move fast onto Debian, the slowest non-enterprise distro that exists? We surely must be doing something wrong at postmarketOS, when people are not building these systems on top of us despite the tech stack being a lot more fit to it 😅 Feedback on this would be welcomed, but regardless, it's so cool more people keep trying to build Linux phones!
in reply to pabloyoyoista

@pabloyoyoista As long as it's not pure Debian (including kernel), I think having a stable base with select 'backports' and flatpaks can work quite well.

If only desktop environments/mobile shells could be flatpakd too, then the release cycle of "that stuff to boot it all" would matter a lot less.😉

(But yeah, moving between releases that are two years apart, navigating 'freeze' phases etc. does not seem to be less difficult than the 'let's have a release every 6 months' approach).

@pabloyoyoista
Debian is indeed the fastest enterprise GNU/Linux distro that exists if you don't insist on the stable channel.
The problem with PmOS is that it's based on Alpine which is not even a real distro.

I can't believe my shaving my head bald once in a lifetime experience and posting about this innocent nothing moment- actually pissed off a bald man and made him insult me. Keep your wig on mate.
in reply to Limnetic Villains

Honestly, if you're this sensitive about me being a zero hair tourist, I don't know what to say to you. It must be a hard life. Perhaps try learning how to self soothe via the magic of masturbation or something.

Like fucking hell do I need to come out and tell bald people I respect them and I have nothing against them...

I don't think I do, I think most people aren't falling apart at the fact anyone can shave their heads bald and experience the weirdness. And it is weird.

Weirdo.

in reply to Limnetic Villains

the real lesson here is you need to make a song called "Zero Hair Tourist" because that is a banger of a name.

So, not only is the Labour Govt's position on migrants full of immorality & injustice it now also will be retrospectively applied (in a direct violation of the norms of the Rule of Law), as the doubling of the period of residence before being able to apply for citizenship to ten years will be applied to all migrants who have arrived since 2020.

Although convention is that the Home Office *can* act retrospectively, this really is a disgraceful bit of politicking!
