The pink tax is the extra price women pay for products that are also marketed to men
— think shampoo or clothing.

Back in 2015, the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs found that across five industries, women were paying more for everyday products than men:
7 percent more for toys and accessories
8 percent more for adult clothing
13 percent more for personal care products

Although recent evidence suggests that the pink tax doesn’t apply to every product, it was already more expensive to import items for women than it was for men.

Experts have dubbed this the “pink tariff.”

As of 2022, US clothing tariff rates were more than three percentage pointshigher for women than they were for men.

When I heard the news that more tariffs were on their way, my immediate thought was:
Being a woman in America is about to get a whole lot more expensive, especially because of the beauty industry.

Just finished Not Till We Are Lost. I liked it if the book felt a bit scattered. I'm not always a fan of the way authors progress multiple unrelated stories concurrently. It's not a method unique to Taylor, but I feel like it distracts from all the stories being told. I'd rather focus on a particular set of characters in a particular story rather than jump around all over the place. Besides that, I thoroughly enjoyed the book, and I'm looking forward to the next one!

he originally declared that Heaven's River was the end of the series. Also, the finale of it was kinda rushed and messy. Turns out, you can milk this cow way longer! I liked the last part a lot and am looking forward to reading the next one.

@xpil I didn't know that, but I wouldn't doubt it. I remember reading the Eye of the World, and it's pretty obvious that it was a stand-alone book with some options left open if it did well enough. It did well enough, so The Great Hunt you run into more than a little retconning of the world and characters to stretch things out. I perused Taylor's blog prior to Not Till We Are Lost (haven't figured out that title yet) and it says he's shooting for 10 now. I guess we'll see how it works out.
