This comes up occasionally. Being a non-drinker. My parents were alcoholics, but worse, when I drink, beyond a certain point, I become nasty and aggressive. This isn't cool. So, at age 22, I pretty much quit alcohol. I drink occasionally, but never so much that I couldn't legally drive. In my life as a non-drinker, I had many people attempt to pressure me into imbibing, from verbal coersions to physically putting a glass or open can or bottle into my hand. Then there are the arseholes who try to sneak some alcohol into my soft drink or whatever...like I won't taste it. The more interesting types are the few who have approached me, quite drunk, to apologise for their state and lack of self-control, and to tell me they wish they could be "more like you". If people don't want to drink, ask yourself why you feel weird about that. There's a perception that non-drinkers are "boring" or "no fun". I can assure you, that it's drinkers who are boring.
I get happy when I'm drunk but I've cut right back, because I also get happy when I'm sober and without the hangover.
