RE: mastodon.social/@thejapantimes…

Disgraceful lack of morals from Germany who should be the first to stand against genocide.

Also @thejapantimes, it's not a "war", it's a carpetbombing of civilians.

New year resolution is to learn to make this. A delicacy around here. We call them kabalagala, but in English they say it is "pancakes" which some people now call "pan" or "paani". They are made from overripe sweet bananas and cassava flour, and I think these ingredients, along with milk and eggs, could make waffles too. If I crack it I'll stop buying wheat.

@wauz I didn't imagine cassava flour would be available in Europe! This is strange news. But here are recipes you can try out!

This one mentions sugar, which I try to avoid.

This one gives the best way to do it the classic way, with only three ingredients, flour, bananas, and oil. Not even water!

We have a lot of immigrants, most of them from outside EU on the asylum way of getting permit. It's not that easy to get jobs, and so those, who can spare some money, open small businesses. I often go shopping in a grocery store run by a family from Pakistan. There are others, most of them Arabs. But all of them offer wide ranges of foreign groceries. There was an African store, too, but they focused on cosmetics. German drug stores don't offer much cosmetics for black skin.
All the Arab, Turkish and Asian shops are pretty good at high quality fruits and veggies, but many German customer prioritize on price. But you can buy a lot things strange to us. Even plantains, yam and others.

Please don't abandon Gaza. Life here is difficult; everything is a battle and a challenge. 😢😢💔

I guess here is the #emacsconf youtube of my talk. youtube.com/watch?v=hy5i6Qb6fY… #commonLisp #softwareIndividuals

I segue from #emacs #orgmode to emacs #eev (hey, this talk in several hours is on eev by @eduardoochs emacsconf.org/2025/talks/moder… )

Contrasting how complex and intractable org's tangle and weave are from a very literal eev style executable log. Then I present and run my #lisp software that when turned on pops an emacs lisp list every 30 seconds and does a sequence of actions therein.

New goal for the month - add a little to chapter one and finish chapter two. Now I’ve got more idea of the plot and my fresh idea for Gabe, I can probably be happy with the first two chapters and post them to Archive of our Own.

Booksie is a temporary place to post before it’s ready. Posting to AO3 is official. I don’t want to find later than I wanted to foreshadow something really early. I think I’ve got enough of that, the ball gets rolling in chapter two.

I’m just writing a ton more of the shopping trip. Idk how long it’ll all be in the end. Chapter one is already six thousand words, I just wanted to end it a little better.

I must be feeling better. I haven’t bothered with a goal for years.

This goal has really taken off. I’ve been working on it all day, had a late-evening nap (I’ve given up on normal hours) and still at it. The oomph could go at any time, though.
