Say what you will about Musk, but he has a talent for good UI design. No one else would have come up with something as clear a signal to users as changing the Twitter logo to a close-window icon.
in reply to David Chisnall (*Now with 50% more sarcasm!*)

With the two notable downsides of stealing the glyph from the math set notation group, and overlapping with the logo for X Windows. Which *definitely* predates his registration of x.com.

Some narrow bands of light snow or mix move over CB later this am. Some sunny breaks develop elsewhere.
Snow moves into the region overnight tonight clears NB on Monday. 2-5cm with higher amounts where north winds blow onshore.
Milder & showery Wed-Thur then colder & light snow next weekend.

#Astonomy hey astronomy nerd I need your help.

Can you recommend a telescope for a 6year-old kid? Hopefully not super expensive, but definitely cannot be a bad one. Im not sure what price ranges are for a hobbiest

It should also ship to Chile

Boosting! I'm not as up-to-date on amateur telescopes as I used to be, so unfortunately I can't provide specific recommendations.

This is a detailed, painterly illustration in shades of brown and sepia, depicting a figure reaching toward a cartoon mouse character. The background is filled with numerous smaller cartoon figures, appearing almost like a swirling, dynamic collage. A figure wearing a suit and tie stands on a stack of sketches, blueprints, and art supplies, extending a hand towards the mouse. The mouse stands on top of a pile of similar materials, looking upwards toward the outstretched hand. A signature is visible in the bottom right corner, appearing as “PJ”.

RE: grapheneos.social/@GrapheneOS/…

GrapheneOS is the only Android OS providing full security patches. Only pixel and a few devices from Samsung gets regular security updates. Damn!

GrapheneOS is the only Android-based OS providing the full security preview patches. Samsung ships a small subset of their flagship devices. Pixel stock OS gets a portion of it early but we aren't sure exactly how much since they don't follow their guidelines for listing patches.

my iodeos seems up-to-date in terms of security patches (according to LineageOS Trust)
in reply to nixCraft 🐧

Most third party distros of Android provide frequent updates which, of course, include security updates. The main concern is just when you have a poorly maintained device, but often enough many of even those get autobuilds that do security updates but not bugfixes. (The autobuilds can sometimes potentially introduce new bugs, but the point is, the security updates do get rolled in automatically.)

This pretty much includes everything from LineageOS on up. GrapheneOS is NOT the only one. In fact, Graphene is much much faster to abandon older devices relative to those like LineageOS. (At least relatively speaking. Again, LineageOS is based on maintainers, so it's up to them when they give up on a device sometimes, but you still usually get new builds for ancient devices.)

So I have a stupid question. I have a lot of security people saying the React Vulnerability is overblown and people are freaking out for no reason. But then I look at the PoC and it seems pretty straightforward and bad? Am I missing something in how React is typically set up?

Like does this PoC have a reliance on some configuration that I’m not seeing that people would never turn on? react2shell.com/

I just updated my local Navidrome server via Dockge and it's looking goooood. Thanks!
