The only use case where generative "AI" really works as advertised is "write this pointless but required email to my landlord/doctor/boss/etc".

And I just don't see how that justifies destroying all human culture, and reversing what little progress we have made towards slowing climate change.

There used to be books, and then websites, listing template letters covering a wide selection of situations.
in reply to Tim 🛥️🌈

People were publishing form-fill letters in books with titles like "The Fashionable Letter-Writer" in about 1810, and I suspect there's older examples too.

That said: I can see why particularly for non-native speakers, where there's often pressure to achieve a particular formal style of English and they're doing it as a second or third or fourth language, some might feel like turning to an LLM system to tune their writing. I'd rather they didn't but I see the reason.

The town had a local cryptid legend, a Kataba - half-man, half-animal - that people swore was real. They held a yearly Kataba Festival. Like many such festivals, it was a way to draw people in to a town that was otherwise slowly dying.

Earnest loved the festival. He wandered the stalls enjoying the sights and sounds, the colorful merchandise. It was a wonderful day where people would say, "Great costume!" instead of fleeing in abject terror.

Ben j'ai rien documenté de plus pour l'instant (j'attends des améliorations importantes) mais tout ce que je fais est libre de droits. Je préfère infiniment permettre de réduire un tout petit peu le réchauffement climatique que gagner plus de fric xD

Wow, I didn't know that DHL had become part of the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team.

BREAKING: Trump has led the greatest enrichment ... of himself ... in US history. He got rid of the swamp and turned it into his own bank account, and took bribes. Corruption on this level is shocking ... America, why are you silent on Trump stealing YOUR money?

plenty of people are not silent, but the flood the zone strategy seems rather effective. The other evil aspects of this administration need a lot of attention too
