Jim Gilchrist picked his top Scottish jazz albums of the year.

The only one of these I don't have is Colin Steele's - I was waiting for the CD to come out but it's download only! I've listened and it's great.

And the others are brill too!

What are the chances both of them end up in the Tower of London or beheaded?

Netanyahu blamed Australian government for Hanukkah attack at Bondi Beach. Said its recognition of the state of Palestine “pours fuel on the antisemitic fire, rewards Hamas terror, emboldens those who menace Australian Jews and encourages the Jew hatred now stalking your streets.”

Tryna watch the series "It: Welcome to Derry," but stuck in the middle of the latest episode. It is just too dark and intense, the whole episode. Maybe it's the watching of children being terrorized in such a dark way. Maybe I won't get past it.

REBOOTING! Couldn't wait to wash up and get my ortho boot on. Add a couple Tylenol and I can walk, 90% pain-free. with no sticks. AND my posture is better. THAT's amazing to me.

that bone might be stronger once it mends.

My mom was much stronger walking after her broken pelvis healed.

S'truth. After the motorcycle accident in 2018 where I'd split my collar bone along its length, it healed up notably thicker than the one on my other shoulder.

Glad you're on the mend Eddie. :bb:

How Much More Can America Take of "Trump Derangement Syndrome?"

hartmannreport.com/p/how-much-…

"History teaches us this lesson over and over. Democracies don’t usually collapse overnight, they erode. They rot from the inside when leaders convince people that hate is strength, that cruelty is honesty, and that only one man represents the nation and everyone else is suspect.

We’re seeing that erosion in real time today."

Labor market lost 41,000 jobs over October, November;
Unemployment rate is up

The October loss of more than 100,000 jobs was particularly striking,
-- the sharpest losses since the covid pandemic-era recession.

But economists expected losses in October
-- because the data reflected tens of thousands of federal workers who deferred resignation and officially parted ways with the federal government in October.

Federal government payrolls fell by 162,000 jobs in October, the agency reported.

November’s gains of 64,000 jobs exceeded expectations.

there will be another loss of fed jobs at the end of December when the last deferred resignations leave employment. I know a few in that bucket

We’ve invested another €1M to expand clean energy in emerging markets.

Ecosia is supporting space-efficient solar systems on industrial rooftops, empty fields and even human-made dams, generating clean power without using new land.

Since 2020, our partnership with Ecoligo has enabled projects across Kenya, Vietnam and Chile, helping us produce far more green energy than we consume.

This is how your searches help push fossil fuels off the grid ☀️🌍

That nice @utilitybend of the Open UI group (that gave HTML new fancy <select>, not the AI snakeoil merchants) wants your use-cases for multi-handle range controls. github.com/openui/open-ui/issu…

Open source is great in theory, but it often struggles with long-term momentum. Look at Omnivore - its team joined a VC-backed company, leaving users behind. Murmel’s approach? Stay focused, sustainable, and committed to evolving for you.
