The forecast here is for 90mph winds tomorrow and the power company says if that happens they may shut off electricity until it stops, given the Marshall Fire disaster a couple of years ago.
So: may not be coming into work, may not be able to do much in a powerless house, probably not going hiking or biking. Hmm. Well I guess I can set up the glass torch and make beads, or braze bike tubing?

Missouri. If it actually blew that hard nonstop, what would stop me going a thousand miles?

Did you ever see that old Disney cartoon about some guy, a self-styled captain, living on the prairie who builds a cross between a covered wagon and a masted ship and sails it across the oceans of grass?

Oh no it's got me

It's when my brain auto selects, 🎶Christmas time, Misletoe & wine, as an earworm despite me having managed to avoid hearing the song played that I know I need to deploy my emergency de-Cliffing & de-xmasing procedures.

The prosecution of Nathan Gill, former Welsh ReformUK leader, for bribery has had one interesting effect; the Govt. is to launch an 'independent review' into foreign influence in British politics.

Rather than a big name leading it, it will be headed by Philip Rycroft, the former permanent secretary of the Department for Exiting the EU.

Moreover, many of us will be interested to see the terms of reference which will reveal much about what the Govt. actually *wants* to find!

I consider myself a resilient person, someone who has suffered greatly. But lately, I feel as if I were eight years old again, facing a grief too great for my age.

I am overwhelmed by everything: my extreme poverty, the rise of the extreme right and the extreme idiocy, my terminal illness, the disgregation from reality of our representatives, the way the majority of people seems to be OK with those artifices misnamed as AI, the genocide in Gaza, Namibia, and other places —and the fact almost nobody gives a shit about it.

I am in Hell. Hell on Earth.
