From min 42:10, Jeremy Scahill, the most knowledgeable on Palestine, talks about his interview to Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal (still alive after Mossad's assassination attempt)
It's fascinating and there's a lot of facts that Drop Site News are able to get their hands on and not many can, even in the independent journalists sphere. Jeremy is a good talker. You'll get hooked.
I'll send the transcript separately.

I keep saying that understanding an individual’s relationship with abuse and abusers is the key to understanding their relationship with Trump.

Add this from @IveyJanette to the file of evidence for that claim: mastodon.social/@IveyJanette/1…

in reply to Paul Cantrell

If you’re baffled by the chasm between “How could anyone support this kind of cruelty??” and “Society needs a Strong Father Figure with a firm hand,” well…

…look to who has endured abuse, who has only seen and abhorred abuse but not endured it, who has escaped abuse (and at what personal cost), who’s spent their life rationalizing and accommodating abuse, who is themselves an abuser.

Look at that, then look at what they think of Trump.

in reply to Paul Cantrell

I see I’m not the only one who had that reaction.

This isn't the first time she's done it, but I just can't get over Susie Wiles making a talking point of how she can run Trump because she's had to mollify an alcoholic father. There is so much going on there very much including dramatic irony at a level you rarely see outside of Greek tragedy.

Fancy a digital chastity belt?

The UK government wants Apple and Google to stop you from taking or sending pics of your bits.

Intrusive scanning tech on your phone would block nudes unless you verify your age with biometrics or official ID.

It's creepy mission creep.

I went shopping today for some presents for The Postie. This is over a week earlier than my usual annual paltry efforts to fill the coffers of local traders (I prefer Christmas Eve for such frivolity); but I was rewarded for my efforts by this view on the way down the hill to home.

Premium subscribers to my newsletter can read about a direct image of an exoplanet orbiting a binary star, and a five-fold Einstein cross due to gravitational lensing. Sound weird? Yeah, that's what makes writing (and reading) about them so fun!

in reply to Mediapart
