Got rid of the last of my video cassettes today. Two hundred+ gone in the last few months, But behind the last of the videos were a few floppy disks for Soundblaster 16 and two disks for my old 28.8K modem.
Wow, bonus. That takes me back. Got rid of the last of my floppies fairly recently. Couldn't access them anyway.
I think i've still got Blakes 7 on VHS somewhere, last VHS tapes I had; haven't had a VCR for ... 20 years? Since bought the DVD set and am up to Series 2 on BluRay. Ridiculous how much space tapes took up, only thing I miss is being able to pick up where you left off which you don't always get on DVD / BD. Come to that, 20+ discs for some software, 20 years ago?
Millions invested in graphic filters and GenAI photo processing, and I'm yet to see a thing as simple as "realistically-looking watercolour filter".
Bonus points: - GenAI trained on lame "watercolour-effect" filters, and - GenAI built on top of a "foundational model" that simply hallucinates a new image loosely based on the original, with a mishmash of styles.
I guess with the absolutely insane budgets that the larger orgs have they could pay artists to repaint 5k images in real watercolors and likely get an image level translation task setup.
