Anyone knows why #gnome-software and #KDE #discover are so slow with #flatpak?
Like often when I'm downloading sth. I can't browse apps or they load for ages. Using the website works instantly.
It feels and is a lot more reliable to use flatpak from the terminal in my experience, I wonder why the #GUI stores have these problems.
Also often had long load times in those stores on #linux mobile.
Did you also experienced such issues? Are you a gnome/kde dev and know where it could come from?

Trump's threat to punish countries that drop US dollar will speed up de-dollarization.
China has now surpassed the US as the biggest trading partner for most countries. Therefore, if the US forces countries to choose a side then the choice will have to be China for majority of the world.
Meanwhile, there's zero chance of China going back to doing trade using the dollar given that would be a national security risk for them.
I updated #HaikuOS on an Alienware M15x laptop just fine from R1/beta4, despite downloading a ton of software.

Does anyone know the difference between existing relays and the recent proposal/announcement by @MastodonEngineering about "discovery providers"? On paper they sound like they're the same thing? Are they?

I hope this service doesn't end up going down the BlueSky route where corporations run the Fedi 😟 but at least Fediverse servers will have the option of ignoring such providers.
(By the way, for any admins reading this thread who want to have more content on their server right now instead of waiting, you might want to try relay.fedi.buzz which lets you have relays based on particular hashtags.)
