#George #Will has endorsed Kamala Harris for president.
The ultra-conservative, and baseball fan, comes to his decision reluctantly. He sees the need to dump Trump.
His endorsement of Harris shows a clear lack of enthusiasm, telling readers that Republicans need to keep control of the Senate and replace Harris in 2028.

Does the orange cretin not have ANY idea how many Swifties there are who can vote?! Allegedly, in the wake of TayTay's endorsement of VP Harris the other evening, about four hundred THOUSAND young people went to the voter-reg sites and signed up.
Good. In fact, double-plus-good.
that's what he wants. to create chaos the say biden can't control the country.
he is praying one of his followers light the match that sets fire to america.
i assumed he would wait to see if his refusing certification/ house vote/ supreme court fix could steal it for him.
but it appears he is not prepared to chance it.
Did you know that the financial looters called "private equity" are rolling up Minor League Baseball -- and extracting all kinds of taxpayer-paid gifts from local communities, on top of totally undeserved federal tax breaks? It's a playbook that works again and again.

And those are taxpayer dollars that could be used to feed people, supply affordable housing, health care, build and maintain eco-friendly and reliable mass transit, build and maintain public parks and greenway projects, additional funding for public schools, help solve prison overcrowding...
But of course, baseball is important.
Sunday Musing: Do You Forage For Food?
This week, we're taking a break from discussion of transportation and instead we're focusing on the start of the harvest season in the Northern Hemisphere.
So, we've got one question: do you forage for food, or do you only grow or buy it?
Sunday Musings are informal vlog-style videos from some of the team behind Transport Evolved. They are non-scripted.

As medical strike drags on in South Korea, patients are on edge
Seven months have passed since South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol announced a plan to increase the number of doctors. Trainee doctors walked off their jobs in protest and they haven’t returned.

"Death to all oppressors whether,
King [Shah] or Leader [Rahbar]!",
while shredding them both to pieces.
Students in Iran, October 22, 2022, shared in support via the teachers' union back then.
My favorite of the slogans of that uprising.
What did the people want, what do the people want, under the Iran-theocracy?
"Freedom! Freedom! Freeeedom!"
Just one example out of countless, this one in Dezful, SW Iran, October 22, 2022:
A sea of fuck-yous.
October 22, 2022.
I would call this... excellent "school spirit".
Students broke into their own Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, after they had been shut out by the infamously brutal "Basij" for protesting for freedom on October 23, 2022.
"Freedom, freedom, freeeedom!"
Defiance in Tehran.
October 23, 2022.
Displaying in public that you have hair is a crime, if you're a woman.
There was an epidemic of cop shacks suddenly and very mysteriously bursting into flames all over Iran about 2 years ago.
Wonder how it could possibly have happened.
Lowshan, northern Iran, October 17, 2022:

These feminists bash back.
One of the infamously brutal "Basij" repression force fell off their motorcycle amongst feminists in the midst of the antiauthoritarian revolution, Isfahan, central Iran, October 16, 2022.
at the all-female al-Zahra University in Tehran, October 15, 2022:
Run away! The feminists are coming!
...I imagine these paladins of the patriarchy yelling at each other.
Ardabil, NW Iran, October 15, 2022.
This is what it looks like to chase the criminal police away.
Morning of October 15, 2022 in Ardabil, NW Iran:
like here in Qazvin, northern Iran, October 15, 2022.
What was so different with the "women, life, freedom"-uprisings compared to the many others for freedom from the oppressive Iran-theocracy?
One thing. Countrywide solidarity.
Previously it had been possible to turn the people of one part of the country against some other, to then of course retract whatever the former had gained once the latter had been defeated, but not that time.
Here for example the people of Ahvaz in Arab-majority Khuzestan (SW Iran) declared as "shining light of Iran" both Sanandaj of Kurd-majority Kurdistan Province (NW Iran) and Zahedan of Baloch-majority Balochistan Province (SE Iran), October 13, 2022.
Often included was also Tehran and of course the always rebellious Isfahan in the center, which both of them often made the same declarations back.
I'm sure they would have mentioned e.g. Mahabad in the northeast too if they could fit it into the slogan's meter, because it too rose up even though it is usually considered the most or second most reactionary city of the country.
They had each others' backs.
Solidarity is the people's greatest power,
because without being able to use the people against the people, the rulers have no power, because we ARE the power.

Each of them literally risked their lives to attempt de-arresting each other, denying the oppressor-State its claimed violence monopoly, its entire claim of existence.
Tehran, October 12, 2022.
Hells yeah, it did.
Liberatory feminist revolutionary slogans suddenly appeared hanging from trees, Tehran, October 2022.
Here's one on October 12, 2022, in Karaj, just next to Tehran. In the same district as the prison where crimes against humanity mass-murder took place against leftists in the 80s and various other atrocities continue to this day.
Rasht, northern Iran, October 12, 2022.
The classic "uprising is life" (serhildan jiyan e), in Saneh/Sine/Sanandaj of Rojhelat/NW Iran, October 12, 2022,
in the midst of the antiauthoritarian feminist uprising.
The first day of the uprisings the counter-revolutionary IRGC military unit drove actual main battle tanks to position surrounding Sanandaj and gave the order to attack, but the crews refused.
The Taiban shot at them.
October 11, 2022:
1: Names of girls killed by Iran-regime's repression of the then ongoing antiauthoritarian feminist protests.
2: International Day of the Girl Child [which was that day]
3: Women Life Freedom [antiauthoritarian feminist slogan]
At Borj-e Azadi "Freedom Tower", the most iconic landmark of Tehran.
Tarbiat Modares University, Tehran, October 11, 2022.
Antiauthoritarian feminist uprising.
Now why was that place special? Well, that university is the place where they train the future professors to distribute over Iran. It's its only thing.
That revolution ain't going away. It's just delayed.

Tehran Metro (subway),
October 11, 2022.
This was just about the same location as the defiance in the photo in the previous toot, 5 minutes earlier.
they brought mullah to a school class to counter the protest. He got a lecture.
Was reminded THEY, the theocratic elite, wrote the laws, but the people don't want them, so those laws are invalid. The students pointed out wearing hijab won't fix (govt) corruption.
"Death to 'Islamic' Republic!" "Women! Life! Freedom!"
All leave.

Here seen for example at Bushehr Petrochemical Company at Assaluyeh, south coast Iran, later on October 10, 2022.
Kermanshah, western Iran, October 10, 2022.
the city was filled with calls for "death to the dictator" and "death to the 'Islamic' Republic",
then for the 23 night in a row.
Bella Ciao.
Oppressor-hopscotch? Dictator-smackdown?

October 8, 2022, students with pictures of Jîna/Mahsa Amini and Nika Shakarami, both murdered by representatives of the brutally sexist regime.
An example out of very, very many those days.
This one from October 4, 2022.
It's not class time!
Class is right here!
That was the declaration of the students of Azad University Najafabad Branch, central Iran,
then holding a mass-protest demanding "Freedom! Freedom! Freedom! Freeeeedom!",
on October 3, 2022.

A revolutionary act.
I'm gonna leave this, what turned into an anniversary thread of some of my favorites of the over nearly 2000 posts I did on the topic of the "women, life, freedom"-uprisings against the Iran-theocracy back then when they were happening live, at this point, because... sleep.
Maybe next year I'll have planned ahead instead and do it better.
II hope it inspired someone to rise too. Any uprising for freedom and equality anywhere is an uprising for everyone everywhere.
on the approaching anniversary of the "women life freedom"-uprisings,
commemorating the fallen and the currently falling, the political prisoners still under threat of becoming yet more of the mass-executed this year, for standing for freedom, equality and diversity.
issued by women revolutionaries in Sanandaj, Rojhelat/NW Iran (a call which they can be sentenced to being State-murdered for).

The Public and [counter-]Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office in Sanandaj, Kurdistan Province, [of Iran] has summoned 14 Kurdish teacher activists for questioning as the second anniversary of the anti-government Women, Life, Freedom uprising approaches.
The activists face charges of "assembly and collusion with the intent to disrupt national security", "propaganda against the state", and "disturbing public order" [...]

On October 7, 2022, the Kurdistan Province of Iran's Teachers' Unions declared in response to the State's violence against protests and strikes for freedom and equality, including against their students, that
"If even a single hair is missing from a student's head or you arrest a student, we teachers will take to the streets with our students and hold a lesson in freedom on the street and in public on subject of 'Women, Life, Freedom'" (pic).
Then, they did do what they promised.
"Father of Jina Mahsa Amini: We will organise a memorial service on Sunday"
anfenglish.com/kurdistan/fathe…
This is very risky, as people bringing attention to the regime's murders, especially connected to the "women life freedom"-uprisings, are particularly persecuted,
as exemplified e.g. in this hengaw.net/en/reports-and-stat… report on "150 Members of Justice-Seeking Families Arrested, 21 Sentenced to Imprisonment and Flogging in 20 Months".
At least several times weekly I see reports of relatives of those that the regime's agents murdered back then, or people who were intentionally blinded with shotguns back then for protesting are being summoned to the counter-revolutionary spy agency or local cop station for questioning, to be forced to sign a pledge to not protest now, to just be generally threatened, etc.
The Free Women's Union of Rojhelat (Eastern, Iran-held Kurdistan), "KJAR calls for participation in actions to be held in Europe on anniversary of Jina Amini's death
16 September marks the second anniversary of Jina Mahsa Amini's death. [...]
KJAR is organizing many actions. Together with 25 left-wing, democratic, feminist and queer-feminist associations, organizations and initiatives from Germany, Italy and the Netherlands [...]"
anfenglish.com/women/kjar-call…
KJAR is one of the three organizations that brought the world-beloved slogan "women life freedom" and its related thoughts of democratic confederalism with feminism, freedom, self-determination, environmentalism and peaceful coexistence in diversity to Rojhelat, from where it spread to become the main of the uprisings against the Iran-theocracy in the uprisings sparked by the murder by Iran's immoral "morality" police of Jîna Amini.
anfenglish.com/women/activists…
The article has videos from actions in Frankfurt, Stockholm, Amsterdam, Berlin, Freiburg, Bremen, Brussels and Kiel.
General strikes in several cities under Iran's theocracy today, for the occasion of the anniversary of Jîna Amini's death by the murderous sexism-enforcement "morality police" in Tehran and the resulting countrywide antiauthoritarian feminist "Women life freedom"-uprisings.
Keep in mind that the regime's agents have threatened not just the shop owners directly but also made threats to act against the extended families of shop owners if the sop owners participate in such general strikes.
Military vehicles have been deployed on the roads to some of the cities and military helicopters circling in the skies above at least the city Saqqez, hometown of Jîna.
27 videos, so far today.
I put the city names in the videos.
"General strike in Eastern [Iran-held part of] Kurdistan on the anniversary of the uprising"
anfenglish.com/kurdistan/gener…
Women political prisoners for the anniversary of the murder of Jîna Amini "took off and burned their headscarves and shouted slogans" in the infamous Evin Prison, Tehran. Said to start a hunger strike today.
anfenglish.com/women/women-pri…
The previous women political prisoners hunger strike was crushed by military invasion of the prison using severe brutality seemingly specifically targeting known medical conditions such as for example latest Nobel Peace Prize winner Narges Mohammadi, who previously had a heart attack, being punched in the chest as if to intentionally induce another heart attack (see that thread: todon.eu/@b9AcE/11293096829819…).
