European-style colonialism could be how humans proceed in #space exploration.
This philosopher of science and religion says “it doesn’t matter whether space is actually inhabited or whether rocks have rights. Preventing colonialism in outer space doesn’t request the space industry to agree on metaphysical questions.”
But it does require all participants to agree on a shared set of standards for caring about planets:

#GretaThunberg :
"We are never going back to normal again because ‘normal’ was already a crisis.
What we refer to as normal is an extreme system built on the exploitation of people and the planet.
It is a system defined by colonialism, imperialism, oppression and genocide by the so-called global North to accumulate wealth that still shapes our current world order.
If economic growth is our only priority, then what we are experiencing now should be exactly what we should be expecting.”
Obtained additional 2.5TB of NVDIMMs (5x 512GB Optane Series 200, for Ice Lake Xeons (LGA-4189))... the $/GB was too good to pass on, and these are new + shipping directly from Intel (not China hyperscaler decomms).
So... now begins the arduous task of comparative analysis for CPU SKUs and MB choices. Probably it makes sense to duplicate the existing Ice Lake build, but that's not as fun as obsessing over specs and possibilities.

"Kamala Harris Campaign Name-Checks 28 Taylor Swift Songs in Statement Following Trump’s Anti-Taylor Tirade"
The European mind cannot comprehend this:
“The University of California just announced a list of military weaponry it wants in order to escalate its warfare on its students:
3000 rounds of pepper munitions
500 rounds of 40mm impact munitions
12 drones
9 grenade launchers

I hope I am wrong, but it appears almost as if it were a dry run to see whether Trump and Vance could incite civil unrest on a scale surpassing that what happened on Jan 6. Trump's even more or less overtly threatened a bloodbath if he'd not get elected (he claimed to have meant it in relation to the economy, but it was purposely ambiguous).
It's almost as if they wanted to test how quickly a vitriolic statement could lead to actual violence. I hope I err and they're just idiots.
