"Loomer isn’t the disease, she’s the product of a MAGA movement that both attracts and produces attention-hungry fantasists—a movement that routinely whips up threats against minority communities and—not so long ago—attempted an insurrection."

"Trump hardly needs Loomer to encourage him to spread hateful lies about marginalized people. He has spent years doing that himself without her help.

Nonetheless, having someone as hateful as Loomer so close to Trump is disturbing and dangerous. Trump is notoriously easy to influence. He has no knowledge of and very little interest in policy and a bottomless need for flattery."

Since it's a fashion poll rather than a dressing poll, I voted for what I'd like to see when looking at other people. (Yes, the answer would be different 🙀)

"Trump aides think it’s a net plus. The longer the discussion is about migrants, the less it is about tougher topics for them.

'We talk about abortion, we lose. We talk about immigration, we win,' said one Trump adviser."

@sshann This definitely does seem to be part of their strategy, along with driving news cycles and making themselves the center to starve Kamala Harris and Tim Walz of media and voter attention.

Trump was uninjured. And never really in danger

Unlike the Haitian students in Springfield

So, let's drop this bullshit "assassination" nonsense, thoughts and prayers, walk it off, get over it, etc. And get back to the part where Trump and JD Vance are currently engaged in a deliberate campaign of stochastic terrorism against immigrants in this country, putting their lives and the lives of their children in danger from lunatics just like Ryan Wesley Routh

Don't let them change the narrative

Fuckin' life will fuckin' steal your fuckin' slack. Fuck.

Apologies for the negativity. But, damn, life has kicked me in the nuts lately, so sorry I haven't filled your days with random AI generated slackfulshit.

Needed It and Didn't Have It

This morning, after preparing the morning meal for Ben and Charlie, I decided to take them for their walk before the meal. It was spur of the moment decision, I was already outside, so off we went. I left my camera in the house. We got down to the end of the driveway and I noticed something in a bare tree across the way and seconds later realized it was a pileated woodpecker (Dryocopus pileatus). I ran back to the house, I'm not quite as feeble as I let on you see, and got my camera, but the woodpecker was gone. We continued our walk when I spotted the bird flying towards me and got this horrible picture.

I don't post all of the photos that I post here to my Pixels gallery, but I post the photos I like best. Some don't make the cut.

Ecch... you take it easy on yourself, Swede. Might not meet your own internal gold standard but I happen to like the image.

@tuban_muzuru

Thank you. I'm aware that I'm not a good judge of what other people might like. I don't dislike the composition or the subject. But I was too far away so therefore had to crop the image in a lot creating much noise that needed smoothing out leaving the image without much detail. Having said that, I post a bunch of images without detail simply because I think they look good from an artsy point of view.

I didn't trust "trusted" computing from the beginning. There were at least a few of us who never fell for all the hype that really got going 15 years ago. Obviously our misgivings have since proved well justified. #NotAllGamers

While I'd love to see remote attestation / trusted computing / DRM be eradicated from personal computing, I fail to see how anticheats/antimalware getting kicked out of kernelspace changes anything here.

In order for those softwares to keep doing what they currently do from userspace, Microsoft will have to implement new kernel APIs for them.

I fail to see why such APIs couldn't include remote attesation, and in fact, I'm really expecting them to include it. (sadly)

@Enema_Cowboy Well, while I have spent a lot of time with drills and know what they look like, I rarely spend much time around tip lorries, I would need some time for research first.

@noodlemaz When I speak of someone as unstable, I very seldom intend to say that person is mentally ill. The latter is a medical designation that I wouldn't presume to make about someone whose behavior strikes me as unstable. People can show all sorts of signs of instability at stressful times in their lives without being mentally ill.

@noodlemaz You say, "I'm glad it's not what you meant in this case."

You're responding to an excerpt from an article by Jay Kuo who used the word "unstable."

I'm not the one who used it.
