Trump has succeeded in deflecting the news narrative away from his poor debate performance by the Springfield idiocy. Also deflecting the news away from Kamalanomics!

Thank you. I keep being told that Vice President Harris has no economic policy. Now I have a response I can cite.

We're happy to release Ethersync v0.4.0! 🍰

It comes with a big new feature: If you add or remove files to a shared project, those changes will be synced to other peers!

Also, if you make changes to files with external tools (like "echo foo >> file"), that change will be sent to other peers, which feels pretty cool!

This comes with a caveat – changes done with external tools *might* be overwritten by a concurrent edit before they're synced out.

We also made it easier for you to try Ethersync:

1. Our release pages now contain statically compiled binaries for Linux and macOS! github.com/ethersync/ethersync…

2. There's a new AUR package "ethersync-bin", which just installs that binary, without compiling it from scratch.

3. And if you're a Rust developer, you might enjoy just doing a "cargo install ethersync", to install our newly published binary crate!

See this page for more installation instructions: ethersync.github.io/ethersync/…

Watching the recorded presentation about Mastodon adoption by German public broadcaster ARD and NDR from #berlinfediday, by @millerntorpirat

Quite interesting. A very similar story as we have heard from many other publishers and media orgs: they have far fewer followers in the Fediverse than Twitter etc., but engagements per follower is 10x that, and the conversations are of far higher quality.

Isn't capitalism great or what?

I'm sure it will increase the salary of the VP and stock holders . Who gives a shit about customers and their comfort. They will pay and use it anyway.

Feather River Canyon

Fjaðrárgljúfur, up to 100m deep and 2km long, with the Fjaðrá river flowing through it.
Odd, slab-like pillars are dotted all through the gorge, standing independent of the canyon walls.
Formed by glacial erosion at the end of the last Ice Age ≈ 9000 years ago, the bedrock itself is thought to be ≈ two million years old.

Further along this impressive gorge are two waterfalls, Mögárfoss and Fjaðrárfoss.

Researchers uncover the secrets of “plant puberty”

Researchers have uncovered genetic changes behind the timing of plants’ transition from leaf growth to reproduction, akin to “puberty.” This discovery reveals variations in developmental timing even under identical conditions. Understanding these genetic factors could enhance crop uniformity and nutrition, benefiting farmers and consumers alike.
