It's sad that the "#Rust on #Linux" discussion on the invitation only #kernel maintainers summit I'm honored to participate in today is held in private, as having it in the open would send a strong signal:
The #LinuxKernel core maintainers really want Rust for Linux to succeed.
[Edit, to clarify: and many of them are willing to spend time and effort to make this happen.]

The Berkeley Repertory Theater (Bay Area, CA) has mandatory masked events on Sundays and Tuesdays.
This is inclusiveness. This is a community care.
Vulnerable people deserve to experience life, too.

Election Activism Idea:
Brand the #MAGA candidates.
Make sure that people know every downballot MAGA candidate.
Brand their signs with MAGA stickers.
Call out people campaigning for then.
Make MAGA be the slur that they have earned.
Weird > Creepy & Weird > Cringe > Pariah
They are free to be MAGA under their rock.

There are pieces of Art a Person can experience that split you in two.
There is the You Before and the You After.*
Do you have a piece of art that Fractured your Sense of You?
A Film / Image / Poem / Book / Comic / Text / Song / Animation / Game / Photograph / Object / Any Piece of Art -
Where you just know that *this* is the delineating point that marks a Before and After?
[ I am increasingly finding it hard to communicate with people who don't understand this concept.]

After unlocking my login keyring through the terminal (echo $password | gnome-keyring-daemon --unlock), I can't unlock it through the popup dialog anymore. I think it's because echo prints out a newline and there is no newline in the password field? How does this even happen? Unlocking changed it???
Also I need to type my old password in seahorse to change the keyring password even if it's already unlocked.
And I can't find a terminal command to change the keyring password.
This @geerlingguy@mastodon.social video has inspired me to install #Linux on my old 2017 #MacBook Air but I'm wondering what's a good distro/DE combo for it?
I could just install #EndeavourOS + #KDEPlasma 6 on it, similar to all my other daily drivers but I kinda want something different and perhaps more lightweight, without diminishing usability/friendliness.
Would also like to avoid distros with #Snap installed by default or those with meh package managers/software repo with barely any popular packages on it by default so #Ubuntu variants are probably a no-go. Any recs?

Calishat: Honest-to-goodness LOCAL NEWS search, thanks to the FCC database. “Last week, while working on something else, I found a dataset that translated zip codes to DMA (Designated Market Areas), which the FCC uses in its dataset. That was the missing piece I needed to create an easy-to-use local news search: enter a city and state and get a Google search for the TV […]
