#JDVance got a former professor to delete a blog post Vance wrote in 2012 attacking GOP over anti-immigrant rhetoric
reshared this
Matt Hodgkinson and Boots Chantilly reshared this.
Alas, CNN does not provide the link to that Page of #JDVance's original policy opinions, "A Blueprint for the GOP."
Moreover, the #WaybackMachine's (@internetarchive ) search didn't yield the deep link.
IMO, this telltale page should be widely distributed.
u can’t depend solely on single shrinking bloc of electorate—Whites.
and yet... here's JD (just dumb) personally alienating every single demographic he said you couldn't.... lol... nothing learned and doubling down on the idiocy.
It's a shame JD went from this to a typical dishonest GOP hack.
I wonder how soon Usha's leaving him or if she's a sell out too.
@darwinwoodka
I'm not sure why it's assumed that she's either leaving him or agreeing to go along for the ride. Isn't there a third option where she's the one pushing him? She is an ambitious woman
I've long wondered the same about Ted Cruz. His wife's a managing director at Goldman. Maybe she laughs off Trump calling her ugly but is wedded to Ted having a more prestigious job than hers
Women steeped in hierarchical environments get addicted to power and status, too
@RobertRager The archived version of the original blog post can be read at this link. It is the fourth article on the page.
@mlanger No he does not. Because of him we got Dobbs.
Because of him we were in a fraudulent war and because of him the economy collapsed.
He tortured people.
He is no better than Trump.
@Lizette603_23 Her bio: "Refugee from the dead bird site with low tolerance for bullshit.
I try to maintain a #NoPoliticsZone."
Seems... contradictory after what she replied.
@mlanger Weird, for someone whose bio says,
"Refugee from the dead bird site with low tolerance for bullshit.
I try to maintain a #NoPoliticsZone" you sure seem to contradict your own words.

Donald Trump Is a Threat to Democracy, and Saying So Is Not Incitement Opposing political violence does not mean ignoring authoritarianism.
Donald Trump is a threat to democracy. That was true before an assassination attempt was foiled at his golf course Sunday, and it remains true after. Political violence in general, and assassinating presidential candidates specifically, also poses risks to democracy.
There is no contradiction between these ideas whatsoever. Yet Trump’s supporters have responded to both attempts on his life by muddying the waters, exploiting the near-tragedies with cynical efforts to redefine critiques of Trump’s authoritarian inclinations as violent provocation.
In the wake of the news from Florida, Trump defenders began spreading this line reflexively. Conservative commentator Ben Domenech: “The commentariat insists on owning zero consequences for their constant repetition that Trump is an existential threat whose election will bring bloody fascism, when it’s absolutely obvious it motivated this would-be assassin.” Miranda Devine in the New York Post: “Reckless rhetoric from Dems and media to blame for second Trump assassination attempt.”
Moderates and liberals, who correctly believe in upholding democratic norms, especially nonviolence, might be tempted to understand these arguments as a species of principle. But the effort to rule criticism of Trump’s authoritarianism as dangerous and out of bounds is not motivated by or related to any defense of democracy or nonviolence. It is a purely cynical attempt to foam the runway for the election of a dangerous man. ...

US people never learn anything? Or they are too intellectually dishonest and/or too stupid to see that both sides are totally corrupted and that there's a third hidden part leading the media and intelligence services? Or more simply are you all a bunch of murderers psycho who want to dominate the world at any cost?
America is a collection of many people. Our nation is so big that when we travel most stay inside the us and never see the outside. That is changing slowly with time. The CiA gave the US dissociative personality disorder with all it did for decades of plausible deniabilty for lawmakers, so most of the populace believes we are always the good guys, and the news media backs that up. Anarchism was memory holed in the 1920s to the point that until 5 years ago i believed it was in vented in the 1970s by the punk movement and socialism was given a cartoon villain definition in the 1950s and thanks to a control on TV most just believed it, and it wasn't until 10 years ago that a large group of people began questioning that.
9/11 and south American immigration and assylum seeking were all because of CIA medding but so many of us didn't know that so we saw these as happening in a complete vacuum and allowed the US to retaliate since we are always the good guys.
Americans are beginning to wake up and question but since young people don't vote, the electorate is always 10 years behind the population. Right now AIPAC has a solid hold on both parties with 80% of elected dems supporting the gaza genocide funding.
They were blindsided when they realized that most of us don't support genocide but like with the NRA and Republicans, both parties believe they can't win without the support of AIPAC.
Why we MUST have a strategy in 2026 to primary out anyone who supported this genocide, we just have to make sure there is an election in 2026 by sadly voting for the lesser of 2 evils this year, or, thanks to duvergers law, Trump will win and we won't have a chance to right the wrongs as more and more become awakened to our attrocities.
However 3 states this year will have ranked choice voting on the ballot moving us to 5 if they all pass which will hopefully give a big viable boost to 3rd parties so we aren't stuck with lesser of 2 evils anymore.

If literally ANY other CEO of a major government contractor made this tweet about assassinating the President and Vice President, they'd be:
- fired immediately
- stripped of security clearances
- investigated for potential criminal prosecution

No one in this country has done more to sow division, create chaos, and, yes, encourage violence over the past decade than Trump. It was only a matter of time before that boomeranged on him.
