and yet MacOS has official Unix certification by the open group and the “Unix like” oses such as Linux and FreeBSD are not. So, it really depends on what you mean by “standard” and whose standard you are referring to. That being said I agree that MacOS does things a bit different than the others #mac #linux #freebsd

which involved trying to get through a maze like hospital (as there was no way to talk around it, eventually outside in the grass trying to get around the front to the road and Brian Blessed sat on the floor of a railway carriage laughing. The railway carriages were being used like a wall at the edge of the grounds

This album is nothing less than stunning. There’s no shortage of re-imaginings of traditional folk songs, but with The Rhizome Project, composer Moira Smiley takes songs roots music fans are quite familiar with and transforms them into immersive soundscapes. These people may be long gone, but we can still have empathy for their very real needs, desires, and fears.

I'm asking what #opensource maintainers think of Tidelift: tidelift.com/ a service that offers to pay maintainers of popular open source packages maintaining security fixes.

From the fine print:

The release with the security fix "should not mention that they address a security vulnerability." support.tidelift.com/hc/en-us/…

in reply to Mark Stosberg

Regarding payments for #opensource, if Tidelift is not satisfied, you agree to work for free until they are satisfied or they can withhold fees due to be paid "for the applicable Service in an amount commensurate with the cost to the Subscriber to cover the breach and/or the cost to Tidelift to assist its Subscriber with covering the breach."

So sounds like if a #security issue costs a corp a million bugs, you won't get your $50/month for a while. support.tidelift.com/hc/en-us/…
