I think the best part of the Mozilla mastodon instance comments is almost all of the people angry are not actually from the instance

Hmmmm, I wonder why they're shutting it down

in reply to Brodie Robertson

A while back, I used to see quite a bit of people from the mozilla instance, but it's become rarer now that you mention it. Probably because of Mozilla's decisions in the past few years.
in reply to Brodie Robertson

Weird, must be thinking of the matrix server because I could've sworn it was around a lot longer than that.
in reply to Brodie Robertson

I think large foss projects should have a presence on the fediverse whether they run a public instance is a less important matter.

Mike Coffin: Investor pressure combined with national policies will help reduce burning of #FossilFuels. The risk for investors in oil & gas co's will be that capital & assets — leases, rigs, pipelines — will be stranded as society cuts back on fossil use buff.ly/3XspTv6

What TikTok does not understand is that the USA has two sets of rules, one for the little people, one for the lobbies.

And TikTok enraged the AIPAC lobby.

Billie Eilish and her co-writer, brother Finneas O'Connell, have endorsed Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the U.S. election. Eilish told her 119M Instagram followers Harris and Walz are "fighting for our reproductive freedom, our planet and our democracy." O'Connell referenced Project 2025 as the pair urged followers to visit iwillvote.com today, which is National Voter Registration Day. Here's more from Billboard.

The GOP candidates offer Americans concentration camps and ethnic cleansing. No, seriously.

“‘Remigration,’ as a 2019 article about the rise of extreme anti-immigrant language in Europe from the Associated Press explains, is the ‘chilling notion of returning immigrants to their native lands in what amounts to a soft-style ethnic cleansing.’”

What kind of US senator does this to his own state? nbcnews.com/news/us-news/30-bo… Why don't national media report on Vance's role. Shouldn't elected officials be solving problems and resolving conflicts rather than causing them?

Quoth #KamalaHarris: “No working family should pay more than 7% of their income on child care.”

Dear #GOP #Republicans: if you think people aren't having enough kids, this right here is the reason why. It's too damn expensive. Making #abortion illegal will not fix that.

If what happened at Mar-a-Lago this past weekend was an "assassination attempt," then what happened when an armed MAGA fucknut was scouting for locations to get a shot at Barack Obama inside his neighborhood should be called one, too. But the media didn't do that last year, even though the would-be shooter said he was trying to kill Obama and others. rudepundit.blogspot.com/2023/0…

I am moving all my computing libraries to #xarray, no regrets. It is a natural way to manipulate datasets of rectangular arrays, with named coordinates and dimensions: xarray.dev/
There are several possible backends, including #dask which allows lazy data loading.
I had the pleasure of meeting some of the devs last week, who showed me a preview of the upcoming `DataTree` structure which is going to make this library even more versatile!

Shmovin' right along with clipsruby releases with v0.0.27. This adds slot_existp, slot_singlep, slot_multip, and slot_defaultp, all of which return whether the slot for a given deftemplate exists, is a single slot, is a multislot, and what kind of default value the slot provides.

Something nice about writing open source software is: I'm on my own deadlines. I get to decide the roadmap and the release schedule. Feels very satisfying
