That’s all you need to know about America. We pay more people to DENY care than to give it. 1 million doctors to give care, 1.4 million brutes in cubicles doing their best to stop doctors from giving that care.

After the killing of the CEO of United HealthCare, the largest of our billion-dollar insurance companies, there was an immediate outpouring of anger toward the health insurance industry. Some people have stepped forward to condemn this anger.

I am not one of them.

The anger is 1000% justified. It is long overdue for the media to cover it. It is not new. It has been boiling. And I’m not going to tamp it down or ask people to shut up. I want to pour

What the heck is so controversial about forcing kids to stow their phones during the school day? As if school can compete w/ social media and everything else competing for their attention w/ dark patterns. I'm surprised this isn't more common.

It can't be a shock to find kids actually learn better and are overall happier and healthier when they're *forced* to remain separate from their mobile devices for the better part of a day.

Something that looks like a narrow bath tub clad in clunky white marble slabs attatched to the ruins of a building. Holes in the wall make it out to be a public spring.

🚦 #LiveKit released a transformers-based, semantic End-of-Turn detector model, #opensource on #HuggingFace[1]! This model complements voice activity detector models (#VAD) by predicting whether the user's sentence is complete and the user is expecting a response. This will help reduce false starts up to 85% according to their own testing, and is text-based, with a very low latency (~50ms). You can find all the details in their post [2].
