Konversionstherapie ist kein mit dem Grundgesetz vereinbares Mittel um nichtnormativen Geschlechteridentitäten oder Symptomatiken wie Geschlechtsdysphorie zu begegnen. Ah, nice. We just bought our house in December, so we haven't had much time to do a lot with it. We had a roof inspection done, and they said the roof probably only has about 5 years on it and if we put panels on it we'll have to take them back off and put them back on again when we do the roof repairs. We're still kicking around whether that would be worth it in the long run or better to wait. An EV is also on the wish list, but we're still getting things stabilized, so maybe next year?

@mike ah, sure, always a good idea to live in it for a while, to get a feel for what is most pressing. But I could see panels + EV with a very modest battery to start off with giving a lot of bang for buck.

Of course, one has to be lucky to have access to cheap capital, but consolidating with house/land debt at least keeps things (relatively) manageable

@dlikdh Hi, yes, I went once, and I have been trying to go to the Sonoj convention in the past couple of years, but it turns I wasn't in Cologne on those dates.

Well, I'm a Linux user but a Bitwig user too, and for this reason I also have an impostor syndrome feeling because I could be using open source audio but I don't. 😅

I like the idea of open source but whatever works, works. That's why I'm still on Ableton. Don't know if I will ever change. Also I don't like to get lost in those rabbit holes of always fiddling around with your system.

A social media post from Judah Diament: Vibe coding enables people who aren't well trained computer scientists to create complete, working applications. Is this a breakthrough? Not even close - there have been such tools since the late 1980s. See, for example: Apple HyperCard, Sybase PowerBuilder, Borland Delphi, FileMaker, Crystal Reports, Macromedia (and then Adobe) Flash, Microsoft VisualBasic, Rational Rose and other "Model Driven Development" tools, IBM VisualAge, etc. etc. And, of course, they all broke down when anything sightly complicated or unusual needs to be done (as required by every real, financially viable software product or service), just as "vibe coding" does (see https://Inkd.in/enhAE3Ri). The only difference is that the outputs of those older tools were actually deterministic and well documented and understood, while your Al prompts and models are not! To claim that "vibe coding" will replace software engineers, one must: 1) be ignorant of the 40 year history of such tools or 2) have no understanding of how Al works or 3) have no real computer science education and experience or 4) all of the above, OR, most importantly, be someone trying to sell something and make money off of the "vibe coding" fad.

Agreed, I am not an expert at coding by any means but what I do know is that good programming requires skill, effort and pateience so your final software works properly.

Quite a few people have jumped on this bandwagon so yeah it is about promoting those platforms or making a quick buck somewhere.

Maybe it is another example of dumbing down.

I worked on building tools like those back in the 1980s. At their worst they were template-driven code generators (fine if the templates suit, which was rarely) and at their best, very high level languages in their own right. Really not like vibe coding, which is better described as "guesswork driven development"
