The image features an anime-style character with pink hair styled in two buns, each adorned with a decorative hair accessory—one white and one dark blue. The character has large, expressive yellow eyes with prominent eyelashes and a small, surprised expression. She is wearing a dark blue and white tracksuit with a zipper, and the word "Trinity" is visible on the chest. The character has white wings with a soft, feathery texture, suggesting an angelic or celestial theme. The background is plain white, emphasizing the character.

The image features a stylized, futuristic computer design labeled "QO.N COMPUTER" at the bottom right. The central structure is a complex, metallic, cylindrical assembly with multiple concentric rings and vertical rods, resembling a mechanical or quantum computing device. Surrounding the structure are numbers: "2" on the left, "3" below, "13" to the right, "23" below, "89" to the left, and "233" at the bottom. These numbers are likely significant, possibly representing prime numbers or other mathematical values. The background is a dark, starry space, enhancing the futuristic theme. The design includes glowing blue and orange rings, suggesting energy or data flow, with an arrow indicating rotation or movement.

Olga of Kyiv

circa 890 - 969

Had vengeance on the Drevlians for murdering her husband

She asked for a tribute of pigeons from their houses

The Drevlians complied, assuming her to be daft, they expected worse

Olga had sulfured bits of cloth tied to the birds' legs, and they returned home, setting their city Iskorosten on fire

I tell this story right now for... no reason, no reason at all

BTW, this is the tamer episode in the epic of her revenge

That is one vengeful, bloodthirsty lady. And I think the Drevlians may have had good cause killing the husband: "In 945, Igor set out for the Drevlian capital, to force the tribe to pay tribute to Kievan Rus'. Confronted by Igor's larger army, the Drevlians backed down and paid him. As Igor and his army rode home, however, he decided the payment was not enough and returned, with only a small escort, seeking more tribute."

@rlcw

think of it more like myth

the drevlians might have been 100% innocent. or 100% the villains. probably more nuanced either way in reality

and her exploits, how many were real, how many were added on to goose the story over the ages

we'll never know

it's just a stunning story of revenge, and some parts are probably true, and which parts, we'll never know

Tonight's Low Quality Ad is for the Arboleaf Smart Food Kitchen Scale. I follow a very strict diet, so I use this every day to measure out three ounces of blueberries, five ounces of kale, and nine pounds of mozzarella sticks.
