#FreeSoftwareAdvent I couldn't work without LibreOffice or Thunderbird. The former is a fantastic and comprehensive office suite, and the latter is Mozilla's IMAP and POP3 email client.
I suggested using them years ago at a work meeting, and since then, Microsoft tools have been discarded in favor of their opensource alternatives.
We are water stressed all over Kent exacerbated by low rainfall, geology, overpopulation and poor infrastructure.
We can't keep building in such an environmentally stressed area.

There's something in the water at the DWP: Neil Couling, the director general of DWP services, in a blog post now removed, suggested that the victims of the care-payments-claw-back scandal were really themselves to blame for their situation...
These are people whose lives have be ruined while trying to do the right thing for their loved ones, by laziness & cost-cutting at the DWP.

Intussen bijna fulltime voor GL-PvdA, lokaal verkiezingsprogramma schrijven. Dat is bijna klaar.

Vorig jaar even tussendoor een Turkse docente Engels bijgeschoold op verleden tijd, zodat ze bij de universiteit op taalcursus kon. Ze had zichzelf tijdens asielprocedure in een klein half jaar via YouTube Nederlands geleerd. Echt indrukwekkend.

Mijn 'werk' op (bijv.) de boekenmarkt is wel zwaar, maar zie ik eigenlijk ook niet als werk.
Misschien geldt dat in zekere zin wel voor al het vrijwilligerswerk.
Iets om eens rustig te overpeinzen.

Voor het gemeenteraadswerk krijg ik een bescheiden vergoeding, dus dat is niet vrijwillig.
