so far biggest difference i can tell between the air fun 4 and the tozo nc3 is uh
the air funs have better ux, and the pass-through is a little nicer.
the gap between top and bottom end bluetooths is really short these days.

I’ve finally retired the old cron + sh setup for the weather bots. It served us well, but it had a major flaw: if I rebooted the server while it was posting, the job just died halfway. If the server was down during a scheduled slot, the forecast was lost forever.
So, I wrote a custom Python daemon to run inside the FreeBSD Jails.
- It’s stateful now. If a crash happens at city 15 of 50, it resumes exactly there on reboot.
- If the server naps/is rebooting during a scheduled run, the bot realizes it missed a slot and runs immediately upon waking up.

Technically the new year begins on January 1 but that’s not really true for gardeners. Our year begins more or less now, a month before everyone else, and IGardening (All For Gardening)
As Andrew Rawnsley (Observer) points out, the UK finds itself with a European-like increasingly fragmented polity (with a range of political parties all gaining support), but an electoral system that punishes exactly this sort of fragmentation.
He argues electoral pacts are the likely strategic answer (however unlikely they may seem right now);
but of course in the longer term what is *really* required is electoral reform to match the character of our politics!

Getting anyone to agree to an electoral pact in public seems out of the question at the moment.
But things do happen on the quiet in by-elections. I recall one where there were Labour party members in and out of the Lib Dem campaign HQ, helping successfully to defect the Tory whilst loudly announcing (helping themselves to the cake - there's always cake in a Lib Dem by-election HQ) "I'm not Lib Dem". And one Thursday when there were several Tory seats up for by-election: Labour didn't campaign in some (though they did put up paper candidates) and Lib Dems didn't campaign in the others (though they did put up paper candidates) - the electorate in those constituencies got the message OK and voted the Tories out in all of them.
Yes, and of course in the early stages, any negotiations are better kept out of the glare of publicity (and that's not just for electoral pacts)

When asked why Qatar would help pay for the reconstruction of Gaza, which has been destroyed by a country which also bombed Qatar, Qatar’s PM said there are double standards at play because if “you say that Israel has a responsibility to rebuild what it has destroyed, they will tell you, no”.

I no longer enjoy reactive writings they tend to be about something that winds me up.
Recently read a few substack articles and I quite enjoyed them; they are mostly professional journalists, however.
