Non fiction is meant to be questioned, critically, argued with, not swallowed whole, to rush to the illusion of knowledge and accomplishment.

@purrperl good perspective, mine is similar. but the fact is, I spend so much time playing every idea that interests me exhaustively out to its full branching scope of possible conclusions that if I read by text I go too slowly to learn much. audiobook progresses itself. pausing is then an option not a default. playback speed is also useful; slow for dense material, and fast for things I can take on quickly. I'm fond of written texts but audiobooks are 100 times more nutritious for me.

Listening to "The DaVinci Code" audiobook was the last straw for me, on audiobooks, and that was a long, long time ago, on a galaxy smartphone, far away.
The female cryptologist is voiced by a man in a falsetto which is grating and makes her sound like a munchkin.
The book sucked too. Its reveal: Jesus was *gasp* married. 😂
